That man is a MONSTER. Even when you know it's coming, no matter what, he has your leg.
that one might have been held on too long...
"might have been"??!?!
Thanks for the spoiler
Why did you click on the thread then?
Ouch. That hurts just to look at
really? its not like his fights are hard to predict. wither a 1st round heel hook or hes KTFOd
make your pick
Can't be a fan of a guy who consistently holds on to heel hooks after a fight is over. Maybe he will get his own medicine with a dude hitting him after a KO is called someday.
I had a nightmare about paul harris chasing me so he could heel hook me. No strikes or anything, just a take down to heel hook.
Belcher and Galvao can counter it.
Once again he held too long. Not only that, he said he let go when Mike tapped...which isn't true. Even though he won if he gets cut I won't care. I used to be a big fan but I'm kind of over these "accidents."
It's a shame because he's a beast.
It's a live event. You want to avoid results, avoid the site.
Good to see him win, shame to see him injure another fighter. Did Joe Rogan ask him about it in the interview? I recall him doing that in one of his previous fights where he blew a dudes knee out.
Remember the Nate Marquardt fight? Nate slipped out of the heel hook and as Palhares was complaining about greasing or something Nate ran up and blasted Palhares in the face.
Anyone have a gif?
Looks like he was denied SOTN because of his extra holding.
Rogan wasn't commentating, and Anik and Florian were too sissified to even mention it at all - not in the post-fight interview, not during the replay, nothing (unless I missed it - was kind of loud where I was watching it).
No sub [bonus] "due to unsportsman-like conduct"
-- From the @UFC twitter.
Palhares going to be cut eventually.
I know it's not an excuse, but as it's been said before, I legit think he has a few screws loose. If you can't be controlled you can't be controlled, and maybe there should be some discipline again, but I don't think he's looking to cripple people. For whatever reason his body, mind, and technique just come together in a way that creates some very dangerous situations for other people.
Wow. He had planned to donate his SOTN bonus to Doctors Without Borders if he won it (he did) but they withheld it due to "unsportsmanlike conduct"
Yet, DHK got his bonus despite striking Silva after he was clearly unconscious. Weird double-standard.
Two completely different circumstances. Dong doesn't have enough time to assess the situation, just make sure he won. Palhares holds on after Pierce taps and the ref jumps in.
Separate names with a comma.
