Watching the glover fight i noticed fight he made huge mistake that if he hadn't done may have enabled him to win. He probably would have lost anyways but.....

For such a great wrestler, i don't know if he crumbled under the pressure or what.... But his ground control was absolutely terrible.

All he had to do was lean his weight on glover, when he did glover couldn't get up.

But for whatever reason he kept taking all his weight off and attacking the neck. Every time he took his weight off glover stood up.

He needs to watch gsp and learn control comes first. Get in a dominant position then do damage. Always stay heavy on top.

He let his weight off glover over and over and over.... Who knows what would happen if he had better control.

This one piece of advice would seriously help his game, and if i was in his corner i would have told him that during the fight

Hey man i know my stuff. Im an mma expert! What can i say?

He needs to follow in gsps footsteps on the ground. His bjj game is fairly limited. Just use your wrestling, get them down, and control control control.

Work on passing the guard to get in side control and use elbows and gnp. Maybe work on trapping an arm between his legs for more control.

Just don't go straight to attacking a neck and losing all control

Glover was better everywhee.
Pat had limited standup and his corner was telling him to jab?
He was a 205lb punching bag in that fight.

Glover was not the better wrestler and is not a threat from the bottom.

Learn from pre-Serra GSP only, though. Post-Serra was first position, then snooze.

And he has a big hole in his face too after his fight with Glover

5th degree Brazilian Jiujitsu blackbelt VroomyJeeps, ladies & gentlemen.

He does have a point though. Cummins tried to maintain control with a front head lock, but when he was in side control he did better.

all he has is the wrestling, and obviously it's not well-suited enough to mma yet if he can't keep people down.

although in his defense, glover is a strong guy who also has that ability to spring back up like liddell had.

Uh, Glover was Liddel's sparring partner for years and years and has been training that exact same sprawl and brawl forever. You're not gonna keep him on the ground. That's not a hole in Cummins' ground game, it's just a particular strength of Texeira. Even Couture had a hard time keeping Chuck grounded, and Glover is a bigger, stronger version of Chuck.

Shouldn't have been much of a surprise to anyone who pays attention to this shit.

Cummins is coming along nicely though. His head movement was outstanding(for a wrestler) until he got hurt. Nothing to be ashamed of, that dude is a beast even when he's being beaten up.

Is it possible to defeat GLover on the ground let alone by Submission? I can't immagine how anyone will do it since he always gets up every time he got taken down.

Yeah and artemov or whatever is connors sparring partnet, does that mean he can ko everyone like connor does? Nope. They are different people.

It was a hole in his ground game. He controlled glover when he was heavy on top. He lost position every time he went for a headlock with no body control.

Thats a hole bro

So, basically, Cummins lifted his weight to get more force in each punch, and that is a mistake in MMA, because the whole game of MMA is to maintain control, right?, not to punch, right?

The hole in Cummins' game is his striking. He has an average striking, and needs to improve that a lot if he wants to climb the ranks

He controlled Cara de Sapato quite well, but Glover is another level.

He wasn't lifting his weight to get more force. What part of he kept going for the neck / front headlock is so hard to understand. Had nothing to do with punching

Obviously his biggest hole is his striking. Its also pretty obvious to me his striking will never be that good.

Stick to what you're good at and improve their imo

I'm never sure about Glovers wrestling. You got some fights where he dominates with his grappling and wrestling and is incredible tdd like in the OSP fight. Then you get him in fights with legit D1 wrestlers and he has nonexistent tdd like in the Davis fight and kinda the Cummins fight too.
