Pandemic: Is sport done for next 2-3 years without a vaccine or simply the extinction of this virus?

There are 2nd waves in Israel and Romania, countries where the measures have been obsessive such as wearing the mask. A lot harsher than in Western Europe. Not just emergency and alert. And I was watching these days the Netherlands and Austria, where the people are not even wearing masks. But not to worry, it will return there too.
This virus does not seem to care about heat or not. But they still notice the virus is more mild now.
This would be the most pessimistic scenario. And honestly I am seeing it coming, knowing how many soccer players are getting sick from coronavirus.
Look, you can withdraw a fighter in the UFC, also most of them can be American or most likely training and living there now. BUT THERE IS A LOT OF TRAVELING IN SPORT, AND ALSO IN KICKBOXING!
So either the virus will naturally disappear, either we will have a vaccine. It would be awesome to eradicate this disease in the next 2 years. MY POINT IS, most of the sport, the sports are doomed for months/years now. Let"s face it, guys, be objective and draw some conclusions! I come to this conclusion unfortunately. And anyway, worse than living without sport could be this threat, again a lockdown and the recession...

At least Thailand is free. Now my question is, how come Thailand is free? As you may know Thailand is always in summer. Did the other seasons of Europe for example affected the outcome? I mean even in Brazil they had 18-23 degrees only in some regions with big rain, some weeks/months ago. It is very strange, because this shit does not look to go down in Indonesia for example. But I know Indonesia is less sunny than Thailand. There are many strange things about this coronavirus. So many questions, barely deaths in Singapore, Qatar and UAE at many cases.
But what we do with the international fighters? Not to mention there is autumn soon, and in October it can be already cold in Europe and North America.

I think the idea is that by 2021 most people will have antibodies to the virus and it wont be able to spread effectively anymore. If thats not the case and it keeps going people will stop thinking of it as some kind of crisis event and more just a disease like tuberculosis or something. People will start demanding for things to reopen.

It's been ramping up in my surroundings. What's crazy tho is everyone here has been for the most part following the rules, wearing masks and social distancing and we shut down super early too. Only 22 deaths in my county and the majority of those were in nursing homes with really old people.
Honestly, I'm not that concerned about Kickboxing. I'm more concerned about things like my barber getting fucked in this situation and other folks I know that own small businesses.

Tons of events happening every week in Japan since last month or so. WLF in China been doing their shows for three months now and the other organizations are starting soon. Cambodia is doing the MAS Fight - Kun Khmer shows every weekend I think without any interruptions since the pandemic started. Also with Belarussian events (BFC) have been doing events every 15 days since... April I think. Nicaragua also never stopped doing boxing events... Well, maybe one month or even less I think.

The barbers are death and buried. My friend is also desperate, considers to emigrate at least for a while. I just hope no recession will hit us. The question is what will do the countries non-funded by the EU and the less rich nations that have been affected by the pandemic?

stay in your homes if u live in the us and amazon everything u need weighs groceries etc. for those of you missing bjj training spend time lifting heavy ass weights. second best thing to a wrestling or jiu jitsu room. forget grappling dummies shadow wrestling etc

I have no clue what is going on in Europe in regards to the financial aspect. In the US our government gave everyone one payment of $1,200 and then gave trillions of dollars to big business, banks, and wall street. Biggest transfer of wealth from the bottom to the top in US history. Complete robbery and most people don't even realize it.

I would say try every other option before Amazon. They are making off like bandits in this situation. Bezos is a crook.

i got too many problems to care about amazon or bezos whoever that is. i dont care i need my muscle pharm groceries etc. i care that amazon ruins america but i care about my own problems more and yes amazon is way to big and a monoply but i dont see it going anywhere besides up

Certainly in most of the countries the state haven"t given us free money like in the US and Australia. There is though a recovery plan of the EU, every EU country will get billions. But nobody is asking us how we handle, we just got a delay of payments for up to a year.
The EU and the US could recover, but countries like Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, maybe Chile, Ukraine, etc, could be severely hit by recession. India and its region, Egypt, etc, could also be in discussion.
I usually avoid discussing politics or current events on Sherdog, but man you are so right! The American people have been dealing with this virus for 5 or so months now (beginning in March) and the fact that we as a people have only received a one-time payment of $1200 dollars is just....unacceptable. Thank God I am still working (Probation Officer), but man I feel for families where the primary breadwinner has been put out of work and is waiting to receive unemployment.

Some good news, the vaccine will be available in the US probably starting with December. I guess in the EU in the period March-June people will get 1st dose. The 2nd and last dose will probably be in 1 year from now.
So we will recover. About 60-70% of the people in the world must be immunized in order this virus to disappear.

We have a president who tells us to inject bleach and a senate majority leader telling us that state and local governments shouldn’t expect relief and should just file for bankruptcy. Our federal government is more concerned with the stock market than it’s citizens ability to pay rent and stay off the streets. This could not have been managed more ineptly.
