So I'm going to palm springs in March for the Indian Wells tennis tournament for a few days. It wasn't my idea, I don't even like tennis, I just got dragged into going. Is there anything else fun to do in Palm Springs? I get the sense that it's an old boring retirement town, just wondering if any Sherbahds are familiar with the area and might have any recommendations?

Hoo boy that Indian Wells Tennis Tournament gets WILD

I lived in Rancho Las Palmas years ago, I believed it has since been turned into a resort.

Boring as heck, great for relaxing with the meteor showers.

If you're into mid-century modern design, there's some house tours depending on the time of year, but that's basically just going to a clothed gay bar. You might as well just go to the gay bars you were planning on going to.

It's a gay party town, but there are also quite a few decent clubs for us regular folk.

You watching the current crap or the old folks stuff?

You're from Vancouver. I'm sure just about anything will seem exciting to you.

i'll ask my lesbian neighbohr.

I honestly have no fucking idea.

Well. Good to know.
Lots of great resorts and spas and things like that. Living an hour south of there means the ex wife and I used to go there quite a bit to relax...

I've been there once, stayed at a hotel with a pool and it had a casino in the lobby, reminded me of a knockoff version of Vegas, also in the middle of the desert, not again thank you. I'm not even a fan of Vegas.

Tennis is pretty sweet to watch in person if you're sitting up close. I went to the Vancouver Open a few years back and obviously they don't compare to the top pros, but we sat center court front row for a bunch of matches and watching doubles was insane, especially the net play. Legit thought i was going to get decked in the face.

See if you can eat bag of magic mushrooms before you go, perhaps then you'll have a great time, and whose playing won't matter!

Casino Morongo is a pretty nice resort if you want to gamble or play golf. Also there's Cabazon or the Desert Hills Premium Outlet which is an outlet mall with fancy high end brands. Nothing else much out there unless you like spas and old people.

Gays and Cougars and gay cougars.

Embrace any of the above and you will do fine in that town.

Also great live music town. Some of the best L.A bands that just don't quite make it, rotate thru there or have moved there. Just like the Cougars.

Many are LA cast offs (bands and Cougars) seeking less competition and many are hot/great.

There might be smaller MMA events in nearby casinos like king of the cage - ring girls are strippers and hawter than UFC’s.

Palm Springs has p4p the best Sizzler this side of the Mississippi.

that is definitely a good description of it and palm desert next door is like an even crappier version of palm springs but people seem to like it.

according to google maps, it looks like the San Bernidino national forest is close.
