Palelei is pretty old already and so it would be better to see if he can hang with the top 10 sooner than later. Overeem still needs a fight, and no doubt this match would be fireworks.

No. The last thing the UFC should be doing is eliminating possible new contenders against each other right now. Let Overeem fight JDS and give Palelei Bigfoot or Barnett.

I actually didn't know he was that old until last night.
Wouldn't throw up that far up there yet but the power is CRAZY.

Him and Gonzaga would be awesome. I think that would be a great fight for Soa.

What has Overeem demonstrated in the UFC that shows he can hang with any of the top 10 heavyweights? A snoozefest decision over a broken down Frank Mir does not erase him getting smoked by Bigfoot and Browne.

    Soa by crushing KO

Eliminating possible new contenders? Overeem is not a "new" contender. He was already "eliminated" by Bigfoot and Browne, but yet still seems to be hyped up, at least on Sherdog. So if he gets "eliminated" again, it's no big deal.

And Palelei? Really? I hope I never see the day the UFC HW division is so weak he gets a title shot.

You're basically eliminating Overeem with that match up...

Can't even tell if responses like this are serious or trolling.

Pretty much. Overeem is done for and sadly to the casual he will be looked at as someone who beat up cans before coming to the UFC to get laughed at.

I don't think Soa should get a top 10, and I love Soa. Winner of Meathead v Struve would be a good option.

Lol, are you implying Soa is a new contender?

Crushing some guy from South Africa and the worst Pat Barry we've ever seen means a lot, apparently.

You just eliminated two possible contenders with your match making there against two guys who have already faught Cain at least twice.

Jds and Bigfoot would both be big favorites against Reem and Soa.

lol at these guys saying Overeem got smoked. Erick silva got smoked. AO was dominating bigfoot like nothing until he gassed in the third. And AO was crushing browne in the first until he gassed. His cardio sucked, but he did not get crushed by either. I think Reem beats bigfoot 9/10 times and I think browne they would split.

Overreem probably has too good a contract for UFC to want this match up.

second, beating Soa does nothing for a guy already in the top 10. If AO lost, it would devastate his ranking. He needs a really high profile fight, JDS would be the obvious one, but i think AO doesn't want anything to do with that. I don't blame him tbh. But i doubt he would be cut after losing. and winning is the golden title shot ticket for anyone that beats JDS

Reem favourite but if Soa lands a shot on him Reem he will not recover well, he never does.
