But Jones has been stripped multiple times already. Actually, im pretty sure he holds the record for most amount of times a champion been stripped of the title.

Jones also vacated his LHW title before moving up.

While the current Jones/Tom situation is beyond ridiculous at this point, it's a dumb comparison.

The UFC made it clear in a statement a few months back that from now on champions will have to vacate if they're going for a second one in a different weight class. Everyone thought Dana was bullshitting as usual but it turns out he wasn't fucking around on this one.
