HAS to go to Conor fans. Most are true YLYL-worthy if anything.
This is Conor's world, we're just living in it.You click on a thread saying it's about Conor; it's about Conor. You click on a thread saying it's definitely not about Conor; it's about Conor. You click on a thread about p4p reach advantage (whatever the hell that means); it's about Conor.
Same. I thought it was about Jones or something lol. This is Conor's world, we're just living in it.
Also, I don't really understand the thread topic which is why I clicked it.
I 100% expected this to be a Jones thread, or at least something with some stats from tall, lanky fellows.Same. I thought it was about Jones or something lol.
Yeah, and it's too bad. It's kind of a good idea for a thread if TS actually took it seriously instead of making another Conor nutsack vehicle thread.I 100% expected this to be a Jones thread, or at least something with some stats from tall, lanky fellows.
I was wrong.
I think Jones will probably beat DC with his reach. He needs to keep out of the clinch and keep the range. If he does this, I think he'll get the win. I think it'll be more of a challenge than their first match.Yeah, and it's too bad. It's kind of a good idea for a thread if TS actually took it seriously instead of making another Conor nutsack vehicle thread.
And yes, a Conor hate thread means you are just as obsessed with him as his screaming 13 yo fans.
I had high expectations for Browne, but his striking isn't where it needs to be. He needs to change camps regardless if he wants to be taken seriously. His fight with Valasquez will let us know a lot.Edit: forgot to quote you #LilNubi
Yeah, same, pretty much. DC is really good at getting inside on tall guys, look who he's fought and beat!
I just think Jones brings that creative X factor (along with some good old fashioned dirty fighting) and kicks DC back to runner up.
What do you think about Travis Browne? That dude's reach is crazy. Will he ever really hit his stride? I thought he was going to a couple of years ago.
Yeah, the Cain fight will be tough for him, at any elevation.I had high expectations for Browne, but his striking isn't where it needs to be. He needs to change camps regardless if he wants to be taken seriously. His fight with Valasquez will let us know a lot.
Hard to say, Dominique's striking is so precise for the most part. The way he changes levels really leaves his opponents baffled in some cases. You can look at fighters like Struve who have a huge reach advantage his opponents but doesn't know how to utilize it properly. Reach is def. a benefit, but it can also be a hindrance if you aren't utilizing it properly. Longer limbs are a dream come true for some BJJ guys, also if you have a larger reach, a lot of times you're a taller fighter where you are more prone to being taken down. Advantage DC.Yeah, the Cain fight will be tough for him, at any elevation.
Dominick Cruz has quite a bit of range for the BWs. I think it really helps him out. His footwork is obviously amazing but I think if TJ was a little taller he would've taken that belt.
I agree with everything you said until you said ... "Advantage DC".Hard to say, Dominique's striking is so precise for the most part. Jones uses his reach really well. However, if DC's complaint about Herb actually bears some fruit in the form of Herb penelizing eye pokes, we might see DC retain.
While the complaint itself was frivolous, I think it might make a bit of difference in how strict Herb is about fouls and I think that benefits DC. These two guys are so well matched that an advantage like that could make all the difference. One single point deduction for eyepokes could turn it all around for DC.Whilst I think Jones will win, DC has the wrestling advantage. Not because he's a better wrestler, he just has a lower center of gravity being the short opponent. I don't think DC's complaint holds any water. It's also not very becoming of DC to be making excuses.
There needs to be some uniformity when it comes to reffing. Eyepokes, low blows, fence grabs, etc...each ref judges them different. I'd like to see it more unified where if you get poked twice it's an automatic point deduction. No questions asked. While the complaint itself was frivolous, I think it might make a bit of difference in how strict Herb is about fouls and I think that benefits DC. Edit: hey, it's been fun hijacking this thread and making it worth a damn! Gotta go to work. Thanks, bro.
