Overtraining is a serious issue in MMA and it destroyed Cain

Hard sparring is for noobs that need to get those fight hours under there belt. After a certain point all the reps become engrained into your brain and most vets just need to do drills and conditioning.

The Thai fighters can't afford to get injured so they light spar and drill, then wreck shit in the real fight.

You guys are a buch of playback machines and parrots for Dana. I swear you guys have no idea how much money you make him.

In professional sports where the individual teams have their own training facilities and coaches that all the players on that specific team use, guys get hurt all the time, and its very rarely uniform. Some people's bodies are built for being a pro athlete and the day to day grind that comes with it, some people are not. Look at a guy like Lebron James vs someone like Tracy Mcgrady, Gilbert Arenas, Yao Ming, etc.

This is just a way for Dana to push the responsibility from the UFC; who should be paying to take care of the fighters fully while they're under contract, and make it seem like it's the fault of the athletes. If he was so convinced that it was the fault of the athletes, why doesn't the UFC shell out the money for professionals to supervise the training? They don't because he's full of shit and a total manipulator.

BTW, before USADA the fighters were healthier. Very rarely were guys pulling out of fights this often for injuries. If you haven't noticed, training 4-6 hours a day, getting hit and kicked in the face thousands of times, getting every joint twisted in every direction constantly, etc is not natural for the body. So whoever decided to make the sport "natural" by banning AAS and growth hormone is a moron. The only reason the UFC invited USADA in in the first place was so they could put a bow on the company they were trying to sell.
