I have been saying this since BJ Penn brought it up a long time ago, but MMA training in most of the decorated camps AKA, Chute Boxe in the past is not only counterproductive but flat out dangerous.

You ever wonder why guys like Mike Bisping, Nate Diaz, and Lando seem to have fights of their lives when they are coming in with very litttle training camp? It's cause overtraining actually reduces performances.

In boxing etc people rarely go full contact sparring during training, it's more about training drills and movements. We gotta move on from this barbaric style of training camp

These fighters dont understand that they dont get paid to train, they get paid to fight. Training smart will enable them to fight and hence get paid.

I blame their coaches. Most of them do not even have proper credentials.

Cain seems like the type of guy that doesn't listen to his body and trains like a caveman. I mean we've seen the infamous video of him destroying his knees with stupid and useless exercise.

Been saying it for a while, most fighters overtrain. Ive noticed a trend of fighters looking great on short notice. Its because they dont burn themselves out through a 3 month camp.

Yes it is. His greatest strength is the thing that has ended up ruining his career. AKA needs to bring in some professional strength and conditioning people with a scientific background and fix their program. Stop sending Cain off to train with Meathead Incorporated.

No, its just over weight training which is bad. this isnt body building or college . stop lifting so much weights. anyone combat athlete that has reached 30 will tell you their current aches and pains are from weights, specifically kettlebells

While other fighters leave it all in the Octagon, AKA fighters leave it all inside the gym

I bet Cain and Cormier beat the living fuck out of each other

Then you add in USADA, the fact that the fighters now cannot take peds/steroids to help them recover and prevent injuries has also contributed to fighters getting injured.

I was trying to imagine the exercise AKA's mad broscientist came up with to ruin Cain's back and was drawing a blank.
