Overlooking your opponent.

Somebody recently said in a Rockhold thread that Rockhold overlooked Bisping. As did most people. That's a good example of overlooking your opponent, not to take anything away from Bisping.

What are some of the biggest examples of a fighter overlooking his opponent?

There was a lot of hype around Melvin possibly getting a title shot when he fought Lauzon, so I have no doubt he was looking past him. Hell you could probably say the same about Jens, I'm sure he was overlooking Joe as well. Jardine was coming off a win over Forrest and seemed to be insulted that they would put a debuting fighter like Houston Alexander in there with him....then this happened:

Not the best example because Salmon got KOed in the end by Rashad but Rashad definitely overlooked him and Sean was winning the fight pretty easily.

Man, I don't know what to say. Bisping-Rockhold is just light years above every other example.

I'm not entirely sure some of the ppl listed overlooked opponents. Sometimes you lose to someone most ppl would say you shouldn't have.

But, a definite example might be Ronda vs Holly.
