Low stance, hands down by the waste. Its not like he is fighting Cain Velasquez here. He's fight Ben god damn Rothwell. A sloppy slow fighter who has the foot work of a grizzly bear. Why is Overeem concerned about being taken down? Plenty of fighters are defending takedowns quite well using the upright stance. Why cant he?

Overeem needs to go back to holland. Go back to that solid foundation. Make amends with your old partners. Go back to being The Demolition Man...

Overeem is a good fighter. Look at all his losses. Every single one of them involves Overeem out classing his opponent for the first minute or two. He would do the same to Cain as well. There is no fighter who can out match Overeems skill in the first minute. What happens after is something Overeem has to fix mentally.

I'm pretty sure his glass jaw might also be a problem.

Ben might be slow...but when he swings, like a bear swiping its paws...you're done for.

What happens is he takes punches to the face as badly as Brock. The difference is Brock is a wrestler and he controls guys so he really doesn't risk getting punch much. With Overeem he's a striker who has been kickboxing for years and he's going to get tagged once or twice in the standup and when he does he goes wobbly because glassjaw.

He did well against Lesnar with this low stance, but yeah Rothwell is no wrestler or BJJ prodigy. He could have fought as he did in K1.

Overeem is working on moving his feet and his head because the defense he relied on in K1 doesn't work in MMA, the gloves are too small and everything gets through when he covers up. You could argue that he should have stuck to keeping his hands up all the time like he did in K1 despite its shortcomings in MMA but there's a method to his madness.

Im not believing all the glass chin talk. The amount of shots he took from Big foot before going down is proof of that accusation being a myth. In the Rothwell fight, he got tagged on the temple and behind the ear. Having a solid chin or not does not change the effects of getting hit in those locations. Any HW would have wobbled.

A good example of glass chins is frank mir, rashad evans, wand. Not overeem.

U gotta understand that alistair got KOed by Browne when his hands were up. Alistair got KOed by Rothwell with a counter punch. He didn't get KOed because his hands were down. Low stance? Low stance is always better for fighting. Its universal concept buddy and in MMA, you need it because of wrestling.

Overeem has been knocked out 9 times in his MMA career. You can look at it however you want, but the chin comes into question.

His striking defense is terrible.

Dude ducked right into an uppercut lol his defense in general is just bad. I know he tried to adjust his style because he can't hide behind the gloves like in K-1, but he has a glass chin and his head movement, etc, is just bad.

He got KO'd by Bigfoot with shots to the chin, KO'd by Browne with a kick to the chin, rocked by Rothwell with a uppercut to the chin, got dropped with a punch behind the ear and finished with punches to the chin.

And how does Rashad Evans have a glass jaw? He's been KO'd ONCE.

Arona hit him with one clean shot to the face and he tapped. His chin is shit and he knows he can't take a punch.

He takes punches significantly worse than Brock.

Why does that only seem to be a problem for him but not his opponents? They all wear the same size gloves.

That's such a lame excuse.

He has poor defense and a glass jaw, that's all.

Reem may have been one-punch KO'd more than all of those guys combined...lol. Rashad's been knocked out once in 20+ fights. That hardly qualifies as having a glass chin. Believe what you want, but Reem has horrible striking defense accompanied with as bad of a chin as you can have in the HW division. Seeing is believing & we've all seen Reem get put down several times....sometimes with shots you would think that a man his size would be able to withstand.
