If a rematch was declared by Dana White, how do you think the odds would look? I think that it would be -100 Overeem but the more I think about it the more I question myself. So Sherdog, who would you put money on, what do you think the odds would be, and do you think significantly more people would back Bigfoot?

I always think of odds right after a fight occurring. I still think overeem would be favourite because he wouldn't come in cocky and actually fight smart this time. May Bigfoot would be $2.50 this time?

Overeem would be the favorite again but Bigfoot still win

I still think Overeem would win the rematch, but even if it does happen, we won't see it for a very long time

If a rematch where to happen, I think the odds would be in favor of Bigfoot this time around. I also think Overeem would fight more careful and would look to put Bigfoot away quickly instead of being overconfident as he was in their fight so putting money on Overeem wouldn't be that much of a risk if a rematch was ordered.

See Scott Smith vs Cung Le

Overeem should be the favorite again.

reem would still be favorite. though he would be more careful against silva

You must be kidding.
Overeem would be a -200 favorite.

I think it's a hard fight to call. I'm not going to be surprised if Overeem has confidence problems going into his next fight similar to the slump Fedor went into after his loss. After having everyone around telling him that he's the best HW on the planet mixed with the rampage he has been on over the last couple years in not just MMA but also winning the K1 Grand Prix, I believe Reem might not return to at the same mental level.

Until Overeem figures out his stamina problems I don't think he'll ever be champ. There is a very good chance a fight between him and JDS or Valasques will go the distance. Gassing after two rounds is very concerning.

silva wins again. he was beating overeem in striking in the 2nd. landed that really good knee. some decent punches. took minimal damage standing. made him work even when he had top position. landed good elbows to overeems head from bottom.

I would hope that Overeem would learn from this loss no matter who it is and fights half as smart as he is good. If he does manage to fight respectfully without being tentative, he's one of if not the best in the division, and I think he takes the rematch.

I would guess Overeem would be around -180. And rightfully so, he wins the fight more often than not.

I still think Reem would be fave. Amazing how much focus there is on Reem not taking his opponent seriously enough. People are still saying the main reason he lost was because he dissed Silva and showed no respect, or that he could juice up. That may be the case. It's a valid argument, but if one is simply gonna sweep the fight under the rug as if Overeem would've won if he had been nicer to Silva coming in to the fight or kept his hands up, it's ridiculous. A loss is a loss is a loss. look at it that way and a re-match is much more interesting.

There will be a rematch some day. Calling it now.

Reem won't make the same mistake & he'll TKO Bigfoot in RD1 or GnP him to a UD.

I think Reem takes the rematch, but I don't know if I'll be betting all my Vcash on him again...

People act as if Overeem was murdering Silva for the first two. He was clearly winning the rounds, but he was hardly outclassing Antonio like people expected him to. And the thing is, the fight turned out how Silva and his corner had planned it to. These factors along with the athletic commission keeping their eyes on Alistair would make me think Silva would be a very slight favorite.

P.S., you do know that -100 means even right? Just seems like a strange way to write it.

No it's not like that at all.

Good points made.
