Overeem punching technique

When overseen was filled with all that horse meat and roid protein shakes in K1, his confidence level was borderline retarded, he just walked forward and threw knees or few punches but that was enough to knock people out. Overeem post roids is a completely different fighter. Before the roid cocktails he was much smaller, fighting guys like shogun in pride and getting his ass handed to him or doing well in fights then gassing horribly and getting KTFO. he has never been a great fighter but the roids worked so well for him that it gave him a new lease on his career and became a monster at HW for a while, people just feared him.

Once the roids went he started adapting a real horrible defensive style which seems to be hit and run more than anything else.

Basically, Reem was born to be on roids the whole time, he is not just obviously stronger with them but everything else works better, he’s not just a better version of himself with roids, he is a completely different person.

He's scared and hesitant. Everything he throws, even the takedown attempts, are half-committed, almost like he's regretting it every time he tries anything.

Back when he was all gassed up, he believed in his ability to take a punch. He had huge forearms and bigger gloves which allowed him to block most of the punishment. He was basically a walking tank, but that style obviously doesn't translate to any success nowadays.

He doesn't even have any faith in his knees, which used to be his main weapon, because he probably doesn't believe in his grip strength and power. Used to have a sick guillotine too, but that was probably because of the ridiculous strength he had while on the juice (completely manhandled Brock Lesnar too).

Nowadays he's like a man who has been deprived of all his weapons, and is just merely trying to survive in the cage without getting hurt.
