    Me realizes that this is all personal opinions. With that being said, do you agree or disagree with these lists?

    Overall p4p GOAT resume:

    1. Jones
    2. Stipe
    2. Fedor
    3. Silva
    4. Khabib
    4. GSP
    4. Aldo

    Overall p4p GOAT skills:

    1. Jones
    2. Khabib
    3. Stipe
    3. Fedor
    4. Silva
    5. GSP
    6. Aldo

    Current p4p:

    1. Khabib - 3 dominant consecutive title defenses, 29-0.
    2. Jones - 4 consecutive title defenses, 26-1 (in my opinion, it's 27-0).
    3. Stipe - 2 consecutive title defenses, 20-3

    4. Everyone else

    why waste your time? it's all opinion based, but you must at least understand that you can't be disqualified from running and somehow still win the overall races. At least pink bits didn't make your list though

    Ah look another generic GOAT/P4P thread after UFC 254.

    You'll get the same generic answers as the other 500 threads regarding the same topic.

    Khabib @4.
    Khabib's resume is horrible, maybe top 50.

    In what world is Khabib more skilled than Anderson?

    Anderson should be #1 if the criteria is purely skill.

    There's this stigma that if you didn't take your opponents down and GnP them, then your less skilled.

    Boxing
    Muay Thai
    Kick Boxing
    Clinch Grappling
    Distance management - Timing

    These are the other facets of MMA, Anderson was a master of them all with legitimate world class MMA BJJ to boot, one of the great defensive guards ever.

    My rational for why Jon jones and Khabib are p4p above Anderson in skills:

    Jones / Khabib's skills:
    + standup
    + wrestling
    + ground

    Anderson:
    + standup
    + ground

    no wrestling

    I see your point, but this is a gross oversimplification of their skills.

    If the argument is who was the most well rounded, then fine I can see Jones or Fedor at the top of that list.

    But if the argument is who was the most skilled martial artist, Anderson was an infinitely better boxer, kickboxer, and just as good in the clinch as those two, albeit in a different way. Silva used the clinch to inflict massive damage, while Jones and Khabib used them to mostly get fights to the ground.

    Anderson has more Proven BJJ than both of them, both offensively and defensively.

    So a more detailed evaluation of their skills would look something like this, assuming you broke things down into three simple categories:

    Jones - Overall 6 star
    ++ Stand up
    ++ Wrestling
    ++ Ground

    Khabib - Overall 6 star
    + Stand up
    ++ Wrestling
    +++ Ground

    Silva - Overall 6 star
    +++ Standup
    + Wrestling
    ++ Ground

    But none of this factors in physical advantages, which shouldn't overlap skills. Jones isn't the greatest MMA wrestler, but he's very good and combined with his crazy length he's remained almost untouchable his entire career.

    Which one of these men would have their skills translate best to higher weight classes where size and physical advantage is mitigated? Anderson would be the answer, and he proved as much going up in weight. Jones without the height and reach isn't the same fighter, and I don't think Khabib at WW would be the same fighter either.

    You made fair points and good examples with the star ratings for each area of fighting. Very nice!

    I slightly disagree with your ratings for Jones and Khabib's wrestling, though. You had their wrestling at 2 stars:

    Jones - Overall 6 star
    ++ Stand up

    ++ Wrestling
    ++ Ground

    Khabib - Overall 6 star
    + Stand up

    ++ Wrestling
    +++ Ground

    Silva - Overall 6 star
    +++ Standup
    + Wrestling
    ++ Ground

    Based on their fights, Khabib and Jones' wrestling are the most dominant in their divisions and across divisions. I have never seen two fighters with such dominant wrestling, other than Cormier.

    For this reason, I would give Jones and Khabib's wrestling 3 star ratings, which would give their overall skill ratings as the following:

    Jones - Overall 7 star
    ++ Stand up

    +++ Wrestling
    ++ Ground

    Khabib - Overall 7 star
    + Stand up

    +++ Wrestling
    +++ Ground

    Silva - Overall 6 star
    +++ Standup
    + Wrestling
    ++ Ground

    That's fair, but then ranking Jones one spot behind Silva in standup would be insane, so we'd have to add more complexity to the ratings, maybe 5 star max.

    Those guys are def more well rounded in the traditional sense, but when discussing the skills I take into account each aspect of the fight.

    Boxing
    Muay Thai
    Kick Boxing
    Clinch Grappling
    Wrestling
    BJJ
    Distance management - Timing

    Despite not being a dominant offensive wrestler, I think Silva exceeds them both when reviewing the whole package. People try to make it seem like Silva just knew nothing about wrestling, but if you left an opening he could absolutely get you down.

    Anyway good discussion!
