Yes! Welfare for real muricans!!!Time for welfare!
Well.. there has been an oversupply of many American grown crops recently, so teaching these farmers the basics of business might not be a bad idea. The problem is much deeper than this. It's the Farmer himself, and his culture of begging for handouts. What we really need to do is be tough on farmers to teach them self-reliance.
Once he gets his farmers welfare maybe he can plant some bootstrap trees.Yes! Welfare for real muricans!!!
I'm just messing with ya bud! And yeah, I guess the jokes on me lol.Come on man you are ready apologize for your faux pas I hadn’t seen that apology when I made my posts stop with the polyester it was funny that you had no clue what this thread was about
Exactly how are these farmers ever going to stand on their own 2 feet if the government is always there to bail him out. Besides these farmers can't figure out to compete in the global marketplace maybe they should go back to school and learn a new skill?Instead of welfare for farmers we should let the market sort ot out.
ITT; The sickly, weak and unproductive left wing trolls bash the people who produce their food and actually create a product through hard work.

Also I don't think they realize that corporations/big ag are not only responsible for the climate of farming(making it much less profitable) but like all corporations are abusing the system from many angles(subsidies, welfare, favorable laws) and are probably the ones responsible(as opposed to the anti-welfare redneck) for these atrocious numbers.
Can you though? If 40% of dairy farmers "got a real job" you might not buy shit. If you did, I'm sure it would be at a higher price than what it currently is. You city folk would be the first to die in the event of a national crisis.
Government cheese is a special kind of foulAlso read somewhere that we have this huge stash of cheese in storage cause we can't stop producing milk apparently...
but you know... ... wait I don't know...
So we need to subsidize the failing farms to protect them from the successful farms?
the man tit problem is ridiculous in this country.Hopefully these farmers stop farming all together. We could use a few less people eating in this country. The population is out of control.
No? Maybe I shouldn't of opened with that sentance cause I can see how I led you there. I think there's a chance this is corporations doing what they do and lining their pockets as cotton is impossible to profit from without big money/corruption. My uncle in law owns a hundred acres and he gets 3,000 per acre after he pays whatever biotech company their share. I used to get 3,000 for a 5x5 canopy of cannabis, my point is, these corporations are making money from all sides with minimal risk.
I understand what you're saying. But honestly, I don't think most farmers would do anything else even if they don't reeceir a bailout. Most of them grew up doing it and don't want to do anything else. But I do think farming is a bit different because there are variables in production. It is not as simple as "that is a shitty farmer, he didn't produce much of anything". You have to consider climate as well. If a farmer has his crops drown or if it is too wet in the fields to harvest on time that will have an effect on yields. I don't know how I feel about the bailout, tbh.I'm ok paying a higher price if that is what the product costs. The producers who arent incompetant will make more, that's how supply and demand works.
Or we can just have them paid out of our tax money. Should probably do that for everyone really. That way everyone produces and the state will be the only one paying everyone, according to their needs. What's that called again?
So you're saying farm subsidies, especially corporate, are bad then, right?
They're not actually creating much except fields of dead crops no one wants to buy because of the tariffs.
