My first wife was Texan, her and her friends went as The Young Ones in some school thing as kids. Got mates in Italy, huge fans. You're Dutch right? I think British comedy is criminally underrated in the US. Stuff like Father Ted, or The Royle Family, it's just head and shoulders above almost all US comedy. One Foot in the Grave is my personal GOAT sitcom. It's so incredibly dark, and absurd, but so relatable.

Of course, Noel Fielding, another genius, not mentioned, nor known in the States, such a shame. Loved him on 8 Out Of 10 Does Countdown as well, love that entire show tbh. That poem by Joe Wilkinson is honestly one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
