This is not all just stand-up comedians in this tournament, It's compilation of all kind of famous people who people believe are funny. Did Christopher Walken do stand up? There's many people on here who's not known for doing stand up. Also comedians are not just known to do stand-up. Stand-up is a subgenre to the definition comedian.

Which according to wikipedia is.... "A comedian or comic is a person who seeks to entertain an audience by making them laugh. This might be through jokes or amusing situations, or acting foolish (as in slapstick), or employing prop comedy. A comedian who addresses an audience directly is called a stand-up comedian."

Rogen is funny to me, Louis CK material doesn't do anything for me. Or I haven't watched too much of his material to really have an opinion on him.

You could be a great stand-up, but not remotely funny in person as well. You're putting an act a performance as well when you do stand-up.

I know guys like Chappelle, Murphy, Burr get major recognition but Louis has had I think at least 8 specials, all hilarious. Not many comedians, if any at all have hit that number and remained funny throughout.

I mean, there's something to be said for giving a good comedic performance. Timing and all that.

Eric Stoltz is a fantastic actor but he wasn't able to pull off being funny in back to the future so they replaced him with Michael J Fox to shake things up.

You should sit down and watch an entire special of his.
