I have recently started descending down a very deep and scary rabbit hole. This has raised many questions as I've
learned some fascinating information.

First of all, was I sleeping in class when they told us that the Earth is "Corkscrewing" around the Sun, as the Sun "spirals"
in orbit around the ever expanding Universe?

The sun is represented by the yellow line...

What is making the sun move? Our planets revolve around the sun due to gravity, why is the sun moving without a larger mover near by?

Stephen Hawking will have some great insight on this. Damn...

How does gravity work in all of these directions? :|

Dont ask the government, they dont even know how to fly to space anymore

“Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who sets the planets in motion.”

I see you've discovered VSauce!

Yes, I learned that too - three sources, straight from NASA.

All telemetery data from the Apollo missions "lost/erased" and the technology to reach the moon has been
"destroyed"

Hmm....

spaceX and some other private companies are going to be doing tourist flights of space in the next half decade. While we are just hitching rides on Russian rockets.

Call me crazy but I think we live inside the body of God. There are really cool photos of the universe and inside the body where you can't tell the difference between the two.

It's all more amazing than we can imagine.. I sometimes go deep into what reality is, and sometimes ideas hit me like.. feelings. Hard to explain.

Last night I was thinking about how physics can't prove time is moving forward and not backward. Einstein called time a "persistent illusion," of course.. And I just started to get the feeling that time was running both directions into the present. The future gracing backwards to what is "now," and the past running forward. That keeps it always "now." Our perception of time moving forward is out of necessity to our, and all life's, condition.

I've felt that if there was an infinite amount of time before we were born, then we couldn't be here, because that moment would have never come. Infinity had to stop. There also cannot be an infinite amount of time after we die, because no matter how far away you get, you can go back to the moment of our death.. That time period has a beginning. So the size of time after our deaths cannot be infinite, and if time were infinite before we were born, we would have never been born. It pokes some holes in the passage of time concept.

I sometimes get these ideas that are like feelings, and they disappear and I lose it.

Silly question but if we're all moving how is it possible that we've been navigating by using stars for so long? Wouldn't they be in different positions in the sky after a while?

You on Weed again? Dont lose those feelings tap in to your inner alien!

They are. That's why some theorize that the Sphinx is much older than the pyramids. The Sphinx originally had the head of a lion or some shit and the direction that it faces would have lined up with Leo something like 14,000 years ago or 12,000, something like that. Meaning that the Sphinx was built thousands of years before the pyramids and basically the Egyptians just moved in and built around it. I'm not trying to say that's true, I'm trying to say yes, the stars move and its generally over very long periods the constellations change position.

I'm pretty sure you are correct. I'd bet that is part of the way they figured this out... mind you, I'm no scientist/astronomer/physicist.

I think we are all essentially moving in the same direction at close to the same speed so there position doesn't change much relative to us. Its how they came up with the big bang theory. Everything is moving out from a central point

Source: I think I remember hearing it on tv

The procession of the stars is a 26,000 year cycle, they rotate and change position in the sky.

That's basically how we figure out when certain temples and ancient structures were built. If we know they are pointed at a certain constellation we can trace back and figure out when that constellation would have been in that position in the sky.

We are all god and create our own reality. Each of us is our own universe running parallel to the universe that others live in but there are manay overlaps. Like an orchestra playing a song. Sometimes the instruments are playing the same note and at other times they are playing different notes but all within the realm of the song.

It's called the Milky Way Galaxy. Everything is moving except the supermassive black hole at the center.
