Me too. He employed the Frying Dragon style seen in Sidekicks the movie.

He was using his face to injury Marquardt's hand but the judges are biased

    He's shown incredible resiliency.

Right when he's at a point where he should seriously consider retirement, he comes through in a big way against solid opposition.

He was just pulling guard as a counter. The ref had no idea what was going on. That was next-level sport BJJ.

Being so one dimensional doesn't usually work, but Maia is so damn good at his one dimension that he's made it work.

I mean he's subbing young top 20 fighters with essentially a one dimensional gameplan at age 43. That's nuts

Maia needed to fight Woodley like 5 years ago.

No Maia needed a longer camp and Woodley gave him a short camp because he rushed his title fight. He also grabbed the fence in the 1st. Who knows what would have happened if Maia got Woodley down.

    I don't even think it's debatable.

Unlike guys like Jacare and Werdum, Maia has stuck to his roots and has pretty much ONLY tried to submit guys...and 90% of the time he has done it...in a harder division

imagine if Maia had prime Mike Tyson punching power with Vasyl Lomachenko striking and foot work.
