    Which fighters began as strikers but turned into grapplers?

    GSP is the only one who comes to my mind but he already had good wrestling and BJJ

    I thought his base was karate?

    Obviously he had great grappling but he was a striker then moved towards grappling more... he always showed a high fight IQ in any case and was very very well rounded

    Haha I almost made the same thread, but I just made the wrestler turned striker one, and thought people would complain. Gsp would've been my example as well.

    He trained Karate as a kid/teenager and listed his style as karate, but if you look at even his earliest fights he was mostly a grappler.

    He was once, when he was just a karate guy, he then turn into mma and learn how to wrestle, but he was never a collegue wrestler. I mean that's what TS is refering to
