Here's my story from the gym yesterday:

These 3 curl monkeys standing next to each other in front of the mirrors were flickering their wrists for grip strength.

By flickering, I mean they were basically closing their fists, then opening their hands slinging their wrists.

The guys did it for 30 seconds or something in the lateral raise position, immediately followed by another 30 seconds with hands over head, then another 30 seconds in the front raise position, followed by another 30 seocnds with their hands down.

At the end they all hunched down and started talking about how much it burns.

I'm gonna by a camera phone so I get this shit on tape next time.

And here I am looking like an idiot for trying to grip things to make my grip better.

Mr. Silva would like to discuss your disrespect for his wrist-strengthening technique with you.

this story and the other post about the maxi pad while benching has made my day. sweetness.

We do wrist flickering in Judo, but it's actually manly when you're all standing around in pajamas.

thats not what they were doing.

the hands weren't grapsed together, but seperated shoulder width apart. they looked like homos in a musical when their hands were overhead.

For grip strength? Maybe a burn and pump in the forearm, which is almost as stupid, but did they say they did it to increase their grip strength?

were they training for badminton or tennis other wise I have no fuckin clue

I think it was grip. they started doing that because one of the guys was having problems gripping the bar whie doing curls. Does flicking have any impact on the forearm? Maybe they equate grip and forearms as the same thig *shrugs*

How the fuck does grip become a factor while curling? These guys sound like Uber-pussies. I would like to see their "jazz hands" flailing about above their head for a laugh though.

doing it into a bucket of rice would have been less ghey...

wtf.... this shit works?
Not a bad way to work on lactic acid tolerance and extensor work for your hands, should never be seen as anything but an assisstance exercise though, do it on it's own and it's near worthless.
