Check this out:

UFC 197 - interim title fight with Jones - gets $55K to show. And it's a title fight, so non-title fight worth even less
UFC on Fox main card - Feb 2018 - $86K to show. vs Latifi

Now I know that it's not about millions of bucks, but come on..$31K raise! It's worth more than 2 low level UFC fighters!
And OSP is not ratings...he's unfamiliar to casuals except Tennessee - I understand that he's star there and brings gate...but not PPVs!

So what do you think guys? Why is UFC so generous to just another top 10 - top 15 LHW?

There are soccer players who get paid 200k Euro per week lol, even when injured or benched

OSP coulda shat himself on live TV when KOd or choked out...

Pay the man

Yeah, and funny thing that OSP used to be a football player.

Yet, it's UFC we're talking about. Different measures.

Funny enough a casual old man checking in to my hotel knew who OSP was

OSP is one of the most active LHW so it isn’t that surprising to see his pay increase. Add in that he wins more than he loses, usually finishes his opponents, and is of a heavier weight class, it makes sense.

You don't belong on this side of the forum with this post. If there is a secret sub section yall hang out at in sherdog, let me know. Help Me.

That's WME IMG era.
I agree with all these reasons, but don't they try to cut the budgets by any frigging means necessary?

OSP Earned:

FN 117 (9-22-2017) = $193k ($64k to show)
UFC 217 = $186k ($73k to show)

Where are these numbers from?
FN 117 and UFC 217, I mean.

Because none of the relevant commissions release the numbers.

Is it some stupid estimations from some stupid newz site?

Good for him. He doesn’t really deserve it though. He got ragdolled in like 3 minutes.

UFC on Fox 28 = $83k ($83k to show)

So OSP didn't get a Performance Bonus in his last fight, but did the 2 before. He also won the 2 fights before and it's pretty "standard" for the UFC to put escalating pay for winning into their contracts.

Since he just lost, I expect his next fight the "show" pay will be $83k or less (yes, it can go down with a loss).

Yup...exactly what I thought...simple math estimations from MMA Manifesto

Its not enough for being a top 5 Fighter in the Division. Imagine someone being the fifth best at anything professional and making barely 80k. Compare it to anything, a Doctor that is a specialist and best in the Field will make Millions, Music Sport anything. Hell i wouldnt be surprised if the 5. best Ping Pong Player makes double to show up.

Maybe its the Bellator effect, they have to pay guys that bit more now as know Scott Coker has his chequebook at the ready

That pay is garbage. UFC is a multi billion dollar organisation and one of their top 10 fighters in a premier weight division earns about the same as a mid level manager. Pathetic
