Just rewatched ortiz vs lidell 2. chuck was on top of him but ortiz had his arm up and was blocking. he wasn't stunned at all. Tito could have kept fighting.

very early stoppage

Tito was so intimidated by Chuck that he seemed worse off than he was.

Yeah, i remember saying that when the fight happened. Terrible stoppage imo

Tito was getting lit up and took an easy way out. The ref did him a favour, although around that time there were some very early stoppages because they were going more mainstream and they weren't "finishing" guys like they do today as much.

Iirc Randy said that during the commentary and I agreed with him at the time. That was a good card. Griffen got cracked by jardine.

Just rewatched the finish (on FIGHTPASS!!!). It really wasn't that bad, imo. Tito was initially defending himself well- or at least trying to- before removing his legz from the equation. He had his legs in play before caving in to Chuck's powerful punches. He turned over, covered up, and waited.

It was actually a valiant effort on Tito's part. His grittiest performance, aside from. the Vitor fight....

Chuck could have been deaf, dumb, and blind and he still could have taken out Tito. Tito had nothing for Chuck.

Tito woulda knocked chuck into next week if they'd had that 3rd fight

The stoppage did suck but at the same time, the fight could have easily been stopped in the 1st round with very little complaint.

Fairly early stoppage but Tito didn't protest it AKA he wanted out of there.
