I am a big fan of this guy. He's legit and brings it.

I don't blame Dana. Right now Max is a bigger draw. But, anyone like Max or Ortega taking this fight on a late notice is badass in my book.

Wait, so the Tony pulls out and they offer a title shot to 2 featherweights who had never fought LW?

LMAO. The entire LW division is a joke

If they gave the fight to Ortega...

How is the division a joke? Shouldn't your beef be with management. Also what LW would be able to make weight in 5 days? A FW would get to fight without having a draining weight cut, or are you under the impression that Max or Brian weighs 155 on fight night?

You may want to reconsider your position. A Featherweight can make 155 in 6 days. A Lightweight usually takes weeks for that cut. The move actually is logical.

Yes. Mainly because one of them is a champion, and the other is the number one contender. Plus, I doubt many lw’s can make championship weight on 5 days notice.

How do you figure that? Guys at Featherweight are typically cutting MORE weight to down to that level as opposed to when they fight at 155.

Lol LW is easily one of the best in UFC. Gtfo

It's easier to make 155 than 145.

Math.

Ortega is a fuckin pro, I'm really starting to like this guy!

Looking forward to whoever he fights next!

Nothing you said answers why it takes a LW weeks to make that cut and not a FW. Featherweights and Lightweights are usually in the same weight as far as walk around weight is concerned.

I’d like a tournament with khabib, tony, max, and Brian fighting eachother

I think Ortega vs Khabib is actually more interesting fight. Wish they had made that one.

We're really giving him credit for a "Dana asked me and I said yes too!" tweet? Holloway was in almost as soon as news that Tony got hurt broke. Ortega is more of a natural LW anyway, and because of his sub game he'd probably have a better shot at Khabib than most. Plus, it's a huge fight with a short notice asterisk on any potential loss. Anyone moving up right now like Ortega would jump at it.

I'm a fan of the guy but this doesn't get him any extra credit in my book.

Dude are you seriously debating this point? That it's easier for a featherweight to make 155 on short notice. How is that even debatable?
