Is there a difference in weave and collar from the newer Lucky Gi's than the Original ones (White/green stitching)? I loved the one I had but it shrunk a bit too much for me to use in competition so I sold it to a teammate.

Also, is there another gi company that makes an original Lucky type gi?

From my understanding from Scott, is that they no longer use goldweave, so they no longer shrink like they used to. As for the other company that makes something similar, in which way do you mean?

Different weave, different materials, different factories, even different countries of origin. Only thing that's remained constant is the price

I have one of the original lucky gi's washed in cold/hung dry never wore it. It has the cotton pants not the canvas. So, I think it's a v2. Still a gold weave though.

Yea my original shrunk a bit too and ended up selling it recently.

Thanks for the info, sucks because those things were tanks and super hard to grip.

Basically a rebranded lucky is what I mean.

And with the shrinkage, I had an A1 an it barely shrank too small. Would I still go with an a1 or an A2 and shrink the hell out of it.

The woldorf is supposedly a direct knock off sold by the original lucky factory, which is why they made the switch and added the gold thread in the gis

Just checked their site and the gi is $39?? That's ridiculously low and very enticing if its a direct knock off considering how good the original luckys were to me.

I've never owned one, just what I've read and heard. The woldorf gets tons of complaints, but so does lucky. And they're the same complaints if that helps at all

I had a black with red stitching woldorf. I put it on and hated the fit. Long skirt, short sleeves, short pants, and awkward/tight feeling on my shoulders. I never rolled in it because of this. I used the size chart that they have but I guess it wasn't right for me..? I got rid of it pretty soon after.
