I personally think Werdum needs some time to get into better physical shape. His condition looked pretty poor vs Stipe. An obvious indicator that he took Stipe lightly and probably kept watching repeats of Stipe getting crushed by Stephan Struve.

When Werdum fought Fedor. Werdum's body looked to be in fantastic shape. Same when he fought Nog. Same when he even fought Cain. His body condition looked way better. It also showed inside the cage.

The obvious next opponents people will say are either JDS or Cain. I agree with those choices. But I feel if Werdum wants back in the cage sooner. Why not fight someone like Black beast? Give us a new fight with a new heavyweight.

It seems pretty dam stupid to take anyone lightly at heavyweight, especially good fighters, but maybe you're correct. Just hard to believe he wouldn't have trained hard for his first title defense.

Stipe vs Reem
Werdum vs JDS
Cain vs Browne
Arlovski vs Barnett
Hunt vs Rothwell

Boom.

Yeah, this is correct, when all factors are taken into account. JDS just off a win, Werdum just recently the champ, plus it's a rematch years down the line which is fun.

After last night's performance, I'd give Barnett a chance against Werdum too. Maybe I'm crazy.

Advice: Try to avoid chasing after a 240 pound man that hits retardedly hard in the future

Let's consider what is more likely. Werdum tool Stipe lightly and decided to skip workouts or USADA.

Maybe he needs some time off like he did when he won the belt, when he held up the division for a year so he could do interviews and morning shows with the belt on his shoulder as the champ. It seems like THAT was the reason he won the belt instead of keep fighting.

He was way softer than in the Cain fight, yet only weighed a couple pounds more (240 vs 236). So he probably added a bunch of fat AND lost muscle, which is classic Belfort-Overeem Syndrome.

there's always the possibility that he was injured and couldn't fully train. why would USADA effect him only now when they were testing when he fought Cain also?

It reminded me a little bit of the Cain/Werdum fight. Stipe wasn't landing as much while getting chased around the cage but I kept thinkig that it was only a matter of time, then boom.

It is pretty damn stupid, but the evidence strongly suggests that that is exactly what Werdum did.

I think he's been enjoying Champion status recklessly and irresponsibly. His body tells a story of a fat lazy bastard that's been partying, staying in bed and eating mcdonalds garbage every day since his win. Apparently he also lost his IQ to the extent he is now a utter noob that needs to learn the fundamentals of MMA. That's a pretty big drop and I think it's best for Werdum to start from the bottom again. big shame tbh.

I'd be down with the black beast fight. Wouldn;t mind seeing him fight cain or jds again either. Or even reem again if the ufc decides to give cain another title shot with a win over browne.

If you stop eating horse meat or whatever, it takes awhile to lose the benefits from having done so. I'm not saying I know anything about what Werdum has or has not taken, but we've seen a gradual decline in a lot of fighter physiques lately, especially older ones, so it shouldn't really come as any surprise. Just seems to me to be far more plausible than him not taking a fighter seriously.

Highly unlikely fight. If it did happen and he took the same approach as he did with Stipe, we'd likely see the first death/decapitation in UFC history.

I think he needs to cut some weight and fight someone like Rothwell, put on a show and get that confidence back.

Also think he could do with actually getting someone down and submitting them - get back to what brought you to the dance, stop thinking you're Overeem.
