The fact is these jails are understaffed because the staff so not feel safe, simply because there are no repercussions for harming an officer. It's fucking ridiculous.

I find it hilarious that people who feel so strongly for inmates have little to no idea what those people are like.

Im not saying that there arent staffing limitations or that its a safe job, just that it shouldnt be happening. Government needs to get their shit together. Thats different than the 'nahhh fuck em' attitude where people awaiting trial are borderline tortured because the facility is neglected and understaffed. I remember that. Place was full of mould and other issues as well if I recall correctly.

I knew someone that was a guard there. They are a huge piece of grabage, so I guess it was a suiting place to them to work.

Prisons cost us a lot of money.

Putting people in jail for lesser crimes (no, not murder / rape /etc) usually ends up making people worse. We should be moving towards restorative justice models. It would be much better for everyone.
