228 had no good main event. UFC are desperate for these ppvs, Shevchenko vs Montanno isn't enough. Imo Covington deserves his interim, but he's in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe he will get to face the winner?

Hw-Lw: Cormier just fought; will prob fight Lesnar early 2019
Mw: TUF, champ is injured
Ww: Tyron couldn't fight in June? Colby wants/needs a few months off, will lose interim belt
Lw: Maybe autumn?
Fw - Another head scratcher. Maybe Ortega couldve fought for a belt. Who knows if Max will be back
Bw - 227
Flw - 227
Women's 135 & 115 - Injuries?

Ps: what will 229 look like?

The one thing I took away was how much karma bit Colby in the ass. He talked all that good shit, and now he doesn't get paid a big check for a main event, and loses to the winner of the Woodley vs Till.

The ufc is really going to need Winner of TJ and Cody, winner of Woodley and Till and winner of MM and Henry to fight again before the year is out to fill the December cards

He has to get s sinus surgery. Maybe his bad but he did not expect to fight Tyron 2 months later, he just fought 5 rounds.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sympathizing with UFC. They needed a better main event, they just don't have a lot of cards right now, so Colby loses out. Hey, Tyron hasn't fought for a long time. It's a shame how things turn out

Making his fight vs RDA for the interim belt happened for marketing purposes. The event sold poorly.

And now he is not available for their preferred event and they strip him because his belt is meaningless then. It also shows that they are not convinced of his starpower.

It's pretty cold blooded considering the circumstances. But that same approach even got him the chance for the interim belt in the first place. They wanted to pressure Woodley and now they can't because he is not available.

But had he actually drawn well for the event he would still hold his belt. He just isn't the star they hoped he would be so they dropped him instantly.

That's the UFC for you.

I gotta say WME doesn't give a shit about fighting. Colby actually talks, they could do something with him. We are flooded with vanilla/humble fighters. I love the art and will watch regardless, but it's better with contrast.

They need to understand their own product

I read on reddit a good while back that someone mentioning how the UFC have vastly improved their matchmaking.
I totally disagree. Some of their matchmaking has been piss poor.
Of course, then again, it could also be due to the fighters acting like prima donnas, ducking fighters for a more favourable match up.

Completely agree, should have never been in interim. Woodley was even saying he was gearing up and could't understand the mach.

He wasn't quite ready so they made an interim, now Colby isn't ready and it's rescinded.

Silly and sorta annoying as it confuses things even more.

They do.

But Colby sold poorly and has like a 100k followers on instagram. DJ has almost 8 times as many.

His act does not work.

Emil meek has more, he is not a draw no matter how much people on sherdog can relate to his nonsense

Fighters should definitely try to promote themselfes. But Colby certainly has not found the right way for him yet. He only appeals to some internet trolls and simpletons.

lol He hasn't been stripped of his Interim belt, those were either rumors or just threats from Dana to get him to rush into a fight with Woodley.

Ultimately it doesn't matter anyway, as he's still clearly the next challenger in line for whoever wins between Woodley and Till. Interim Titles are just a fanciful way of saying you're the #1 contender.

It's amazing how atrocious communication is between the UFC and fighters.
How do they not have a schedule and plans laid out for champs and contenders?
They should know when one of their champions is going to be out for surgery, they should know when and who they want to see challenge for the belt, and they should talk and plan with the fighters. Both sides never seem to know what the other side is doing.

Tyron was surprised at the interim title fight between Colby and RDA, and the UFC makes up stories about Tyron not accepting fights when he was actually recovering from surgery, and/or wasn't even told about an opponent.

We knew Tyron would be ready soon. So Dana and company shouldve had a chat with RDA and Colby and told them what they expected of the winner, in regards to the real belt.
This making a fake belt nonsense and then stripping it a month later is moronic.

Well it’s gonna bite the ufc in the ass when Till misses weight and they have a 5 round snoozer that’s not even for the belt.
