If we went all in 40 years ago and grew the technology electricity would be insanely clean and cheap. We can run aircraft carriers just fine with nuclear. No solar or oil needed.

It isn't hippies fault. GOP and democratic governments that whole time could have provided that all-in leadership and R&D funding.

Once renewables penetrate further in the market, economics may then favour more expensive baseload options. Time will tell how much that is nuclear vs other options in development.

I don't get particularly alarmed over the "ban fracking" rhetoric because I know it won't come to fruition any time soon. I mean, you technically could but it would destroy a lot of economic output and considerably weaken the US geopolitically.

Plus, we'd merely just become a massive net importer again. I like the idea of the GND and it's imperative we transition to cleaner energy. The mandate is just logistically and technologically impossible on the time scale being demanded.

I watched both of your videos all the way through, and I'm not impressed. Neither of them presents enough evidence of a serious problem. I would be fine with studying the various issues, including the earthquakes. But I see no evidence of a catastrophe on the horizon.

The planet and health of our rivers and country is more important then short term gains. In a dying industry that Europe and the more advanced world wishes to move past. Also if we nationalized the fossil fuel industry we could have all the revenue collected by government instead of going overseas to foreigners and offshore wealth held by rich elites.

Michael Moore just released a new doc on "Green" Energy titled Planet of the Humans. It's currently available for free on YouTube. Worth the watch. Potentially eye opening for people who don't seem to understand that if green energy solutions were at all feasible, they would already be here.
