OneC gave Ben Askren an office job why can't Dana give Struve a job at the UFC campus?

I'm really worried about this guy ffs this last fight was a disaster. It's now a safety issue where what happens if he dies in the octagon? Things are going ok right now we don't need a bunch of feminists and political shits crying about the dangers of mma.

This is an area where the fighter (Struve) and the people around him are responsible. Not the UFC..

doing what? stacking shelves? I'm sure it is easier to just buy a forklift

he's not going to stop fighting i think he tells his people to go fuck themselves. What can they do if he demands to fight? This is a situation where Dana has to step in. I think he would make a great tour guide at the campus for the fans. Plus he'll still be around fighters and help out in the gym.

Difference is that Struve is a skilled MMA fighter. Askren has been sending out CVs for office jobs, supermarkets etc.

Maybe the doors aren't tall enough or something

Ben Askren gets an office job at a smaller MMA organisation because he's the best fighter they've ever had.

Why on earth would a journeyman Heavyweight get a job from the UFC? Just because he's getting knocked out, left, right and center?

Silly.

UFC has a big issue with CTE coming. They try to pass off responsibility to the commissions. You have guys like Carlos Condit monitoring himself and quitting but the rest of it seems like a cruel joke.

Why is it that Conor hurts his foot and needs Dr clearance, but Glover Texiera get's his block knocked off by Rumble Johnson and just needs to take an arbitrary amount of time off as determined by a political appointee at the commission?
It's horrible and it's a shame. Get these guys in for baseline brain scans, and have them retested and monitored after traumatic injury.

Yes Dana could step in. But what happens when he goes to another org?

Point is, it's ultimately up to Struve, when and where he retires..

I love how it's the UFC's responsibility and not the fighters. If you get punched in the head for a living, guess what? There's a good chance you're gonna have health issues later in life.

After the Hunt fight Struve should have been suspended forever. The brain scans from that fight are scary as fuck yet here we are a short time later watching Volkov knock his block off again?

Glad that Condit quit he definitely suffered a ton of punishment! The problem is many of these guys can't be trusted make the right call for their own personal safety. The UFC needs to accept responsibility and at least help them transition into a regular job when they refuse to help themselves.

Dana and Lorenzo claimed the campus is for the fighters? Surely they can hire ex fighters for certain jobs instead of people just there pick up a paycheck.

Is Struve looking for that type of job? And who said Dana can't or won't?

What? What brain scans? His medical issues following the Hunt fight had to do with complications of a bicuspid aortic valve, which is congenital. He was born with the fucking thing, he didn't obtain it because of the Hunt fight. Bicuspid aortic valves accumulate damage (from typical wear and tear) quicker than normal (tricuspid) valves. I don't know how it was treated, but it seems like it's now under control, and it had absolutely nothing to do with his brain or Mark Hunt.

Maybe Dana should send him on the Joe Rogan Experience and Joe can have the talk.

Seriously though- I said in threads back when Struve was taking vicious shots even in wins (think back to fights like Buentello for instance) that his career would be done by 30 unless he switched things up and developed better defense.

To me, he still has potential and good fights ahead of him, but I definitely don't want to see him getting concussed again and, in that division, you're going to get concussed unless you really develop another facet of your game. Struve was always a quality grappler off his back and from top position, it's too bad he doesn't have more of an offensive takedown game to go with it.

Won't happen. Since the new management came in, they're looking to cut any unnecessary costs. Why would they keep Struve around when they sacked Chuck a couple of months ago.

Finally someone with a brain...
