Thought I would post this for those new to the sport who may want a bit of an inside look into the birth and creation of our fantastic sport. Also what are some of Sherdog's favorites?

When is this documentary coming out?

I remember watching this and being amazed at all the roids Kerr needed to keep that ridiculous body.

(Part 1 of 14). It's more of a retrospective type of film, but I think it still counts. Not nearly as depressing as The Smashing Machine, which I still love.

I also loved the UFC: Fighting for a Generation special from 5 years ago.

Tomorrow, I'll be watching the Conor documentary. Looking forward to it.

I only watch documentaries from Animal planet. That's where real beasts are made. Watch that if you want to be UFC GOAT

Knowing what you know now about Kerr makes this documentary even more tragic in my eyes.

The Smashing Machine is the only one I can stomach. There's nothing out there that's provided anything that veteran Sherdoggies like us don't know already.

In fact, we could probably take enough information - straight sourced from the legends of Sherdog (RIP some good bros gone home,) throw a bunch of archived clips and pics together and voila, a masterpiece created from the depths of sherdog.net and it's fantabulous and high volume of posters and assholes.

I haven't seen anything that came close to The Smashing Machine. It was a really cool insight into MMA in japan when MMA wasn't cool. I probably first watched it around '04 and was recommending it to people who didn't know much about MMA at the time.

kerr was good as hell and would be good in any era with that size strength wrestling and sub game

I always thought Kerr was overrated, even when he was on PEDS,but for sure he was a fun guy to watch. Kind of like the Lesnar of his day as far as style. He had a very very strange career. His first 3 fights in Pride were very bizarre spectacles, that have to be seen to be believed. He was a strange guy,he looked like the incredible hulk but had a soft spoken and effeminate manner about him. Its sad that his career stalled out so bad the way it did.

The Smashing Machine documentary i would give it 4/4 stars

damn, didnt see that you posted before me , yes completely agree. i saw it in 07 i didnt live in north america at the time ortherwise i may have seen it sooner. that first scene, in the waiting room, after Keer is back from Japan and that old lady "what happened to you"
kerr replies : do you know ultimate fighting ?
and this was in 2003. can you imagine explaing you just returned from japan , and all that ?
then the next scene, in the doctors office " doc, my knee, my head the pain is too much can i get that refill?

what a fucking opener. suck on that harry potter and your jedi ballerina bullshit

not trying to argue or say your post is wrong, but its easy to be an mma fighter when you are on ped's and opiod strength pain killers. he obviously was going through withdrawls for certain fights and he lost all of them
