When a guy is placing one hand on the ground to avoid getting knee'd, is it legal to kick the arm he's leaning on? The arm that's he's planting?

Usually the guy keeps one hand down and one pointing towards the opponent to block strikers. But most of his weight is on that one arm that he's placing down. Kicking it would either make him fall or really hurt him.

You have to be super precise and miss the head by a mile. But I'm sure some guys could pull it off.

Not even that hard to miss the head. But I suspect there won't be much of that due to how easy it would be to break the arm. I can see that kind of tactic either getting banned or a fighters that do that suddenly have a hard time getting fights.

Come to think of it that should be counted as a knock down every time the hand touches on the judges score cards.....

I doubt his weight is on the arm.

You'll understand if you grapple - one of the major principles in wrestling is keeping your weight "sunk" and typically if a guy is against the fence with a hand down, he's in danger of being picked up and slammed if his weight is on his posting hand.

So I'm willing to bet most of those times the guy doesn't actually have much weight on the arm, and it's still "sunk" in his legs to prevent the other guy from controlling him.

I think Melvin Guillard will sometimes knee or throw a thai kick to the opponent's shoulder after a sprawl or scramble when he has the opportunity to do so. Not exactly the same thing as what you stated but I think it is similar.
