ONE Championship: Pride of Lions Quest Weigh-In Results

will post when they happen

Askren on weight; Santos 1 Kilo over with an hour and a half to lose it.

Anyone ever purchase the livestream for onefc? How's the quality? Any lag or other issues?

I got it like two or three times. Was all good for me. No problems. It's been a while but it's still the same site and everything. Was HD with no lag on my computer.

Yago Bryan also missed weight by 1.5 pounds (ONE doesn't even allow a one pound allowance in their non-title fights, bee tee dubz.) That fight's still goin' through, though. It's still a good champ vs. champ fight, as well; there's no title on the line, but it's two 115-lb champions from legit organizations featuring the division [ONE and Shooto Brazil] fighting it out.
It's minorly inconvenient they're not adopting the Bellator missed-weight title situation thing (5 rounds, on the line for the guy who made weight, not the guy who missed weight.) That whole thing's already kind of a fustercluck, though, so I get why they're keeping it traditional.
It's pretty cool that Asukuren's also agreeing to the 190 weigh-in thing; he's not just imposing it on Sapo, he's gotta make it under 190, too. It's admittedly a lot easier for him, but still. There's a good chance they'll work around that, though (they'll be like, "Alright, here's another 50K, Ben; accept the fight now.")

Thanks I might check this out. I really expect askren to make a statement to make up for that last performance. ..also there's a dude named major overall

lol

2 title fights f*cked up, this isn't One's year

After hearing how they treated Arnaud Lepont after his most recent loss in their org, sounds like its a bit of karma being dished out.

You should definitely check out Major's fights if you haven't, always great finishes.

Should be a fun event, a lot of very entertaining fighters throughout the card. Dejdamrong vs Yago Bryan is a cool champion vs champion fight and the winner probably deserves a top 5 in the world ranking.

well, this is a fucking disgrace

the first fight, askren sapo, i actually bought that shit, and now the second fight is in danger of not even happening cause mostly because askren is being a prima donna. yeah sapo was the one unprofessional but for a guy that boasts himself by saying that he would win against fucking rory and former ww champion hendricks, hes being quite demanding to fight this subpar fighter who isnt even bellator level, losing 2 out of 3 fights

one of the greats, anderson, fought lutter that was 2 pounds above. if he thinks that highly of himself, why he cant do the same?

I've watched 4; never had an issue. The only problem i'm having is that I can't get off work for the event. If I could buy the replay right after work it'd be fine but previously I had to wait about 20 hours before I could buy a stream of the replay which is awful, as it means I have to avoid mma forums all weekend due to spoilers.

1. An untested Santos is not a subpar fighter nor is he "not even bellator level" he couldnt fight for them in the cities that do drug testing though.

2. If for some reason Anderson lost it would go down as a fluke and he could come back and still make a ton of money. With Askren, while I think going to ONE was the right move for him, he is also taking a very large bet on himself to get through this contract without a loss. If he loses it will crush his career as a fighter to the point him retiring wouldnt shock me. Where as if he keeps winning in a year when he is a free agent he will once again be the top free agent on the market value wise, especially with the UFC WW division going through struggles, especially if it loses Hendricks too.

3. This does suck. I feel bad for FrontRowBrian flew all the way to Singapore and the fight might not even happen ha.

Here's the gifs of his last three fights, in order.

I made the first one.
It'd be great for ONE if he wins. Beating Boku would throw him right into contention, and he'd be their second home-grown guy to be a legit title contender (after Herbert Burns, only better cuz' Overall's lived in Singapore for a lot longer.) Just about every other contender they've had either came from another organization-- URCC, Legend FC, M-1, DREAM, Shooto, or fought, like, 10 times in their home country before they joined ONE-- or fizzled out just before they became a legit contender (Peter Davis.) Building home-grown champions and contenders is a gigantic part of ONE's whole strategy, and it'd be a good step forward for them if it pays off sooner than later.
Boku winning's also great, cuz' everyone loves him and he's an entertaining guy. ONE's 145's very underrated.

Alain Ngalani vs. Igor Subora's an underrated fight on this card. The winner's one or two wins away from being back in title contention. Their last respective losses to Chi Lewis-Parry and Brandon Vera were what got 'em their title shots. I'm pretty sure they're both also based in Asia, which helps out. I know Ngalani lives- and trains in Hong Kong, and Subora's fought his entire career in Southeast-Asia, so he may also live there. They've also got a 100% finishing rate so far in their shootfighting careers (in victory and defeat), so it's probably gonna be an entertaining fight.

Is the Yago fight still 5 rounds or is itn3 now because there is no title on the line?

War Santos!
most likely I think askren will win, but from what i've read lots of people to want to see askren lose

Anyone ever purchase the livestream for onefc? How's the quality? Any lag or other issues?

i've bought almost all of their PPVs. Apart from their recent event in Indonesia their streams have been pretty good.

You should definitely check out Major's fights if you haven't, always great finishes.

DSA vs yago bryan = evolve mma vs nova uniao. it looks like they're not protecting DSA anymore, gonna be a good fight!

It'd be great for ONE if he wins. Beating Boku would throw him right into contention, and he'd be their second home-grown guy to be a legit title contender
Major is a rising contender for sure, i agree Boku would be a big win for him. There are so many interesting fights they could make if he wins it.

Boku winning's also great, cuz' everyone loves him and he's an entertaining guy. ONE's 145's very underrated.

One fc's 145 and 155 are the most exciting for me. It seems like this event they are throwing on as many of their FW's and are hoping to find one that stands out.

I remember watching Nathan Ng on the undercard of the Taiwan show, the commentator said he trains out of 10th planet so I think that he could potentially be a fighter to look out for too.

Alain Ngalani vs. Igor Subora's an underrated fight on this card.
Was this added recently? i completely missed that fight on earlier updates.

Why are there no betting odds for the rest of the card? Only betting odds I can find that's available is Askren vs. Santos.

That Gogoplata was insane (and very weird)

^ santos looks like one of those wax models of a caveman you see in museums

so uhh... this is in a few hours. Anyone on the east coast is probably going to bed and would have to wake up early if they were to buy the card. Is the main event happening?

I don't know what's going on anymore.

edit. I'm checking out on this one. I'm going to bed. I was going to buy it, but now i don't even know what's happening.

Damn, I really wanted to see an untainted Askren-Santos fight.

I noticed it's on Fight Network for those of us in Canada.

these Friday morning cards are just the worst.

Can never watch them.

Just into the pub and got the fight on. Caught the "poke". How's the fight bin so far?
