The Super Samoan Mark Hunt gunning for KO win over Stipe Miocic.

The devastating loss to Fabricio Werdum for the interim Heavyweight strap at UFC 180 has not taken any wind out of Mark Hunt's sails. The New Zealand knock out artist recently caught up with Submission Radio, as reported by FOX Sports:
"It doesn't matter how technical you are. You get hit once, it's lights out baby."

Mark went on to explain how he's not dared to look back at the KO loss to Werdum, which saw the Brazilian land a stunning acrobatic knee to the tested jaw of Hunt:
"Well no. I didn't even look at that fight. I don't like going back and looking at 'shoulda, woulda, couldas'. I mean I know the mistake I made and it happens to everyone. You make a mistake and you get caught. You know I got caught. It happened [at UFC 184] and this is the top end. You can't muck around with that sort of jazz."

Brushing aside his unfortunate loss to Werdum, Hunt is now geared up to collide with boxing specialist, Stipe Miocic, at UFC Fight Night 65 in May. With a roaring Australian crowd sure to be cheering the former K-1 champ on, Hunt predicts a great fight for the fans:
"I mean Stipe is number four [in the rankings], he's one of the best fighters on the planet you know. We don't muck around here, this is the top end and I'm looking forward to trying to get further than him.

He's like trying to put me out so he that can get further than me, so this our business. I mean apart from that I respect the man totally. What we do, I mean this is a hard business and I feel like I could get into that top end and get the number one challenge or the title shot. So this is what we're both gunning for. So we want that belt. All of us want that belt.

But I respect Stipe like all my opponents. You know I only made that mistake one time and I got knocked out by Melvin Manhoef. I didn't respect him but you know you learn, you move on, and come May 10th we're going to be gunning for each other. So it's going to be great".


Stipe Miocic is coming off a loss to another man that has managed to topple The Super Samoan, Junior Dos Santos. Miocic and "Cigano" exhibited a thrilling 5-round performance inside the Airways Center of Phoenix, Arizona, which earned the two heavyweights a fight of the night bonus.

Given how both Miocic and Hunt revel in exchanging blows inside the pocket, their contest in May is shaping up to a thriller.
