While Aldo has no fear of the takedown, it's logical that he is not going to want anything to do with getting hit from Conor...especiallly once he tastes a few stiff long range bombs. So his only real option is movement and relying on counters with the hope that his legendary low kicks will disable McGoat.

This is really the only time I have seen a fight with Aldo facing someone he really can't stand and exchange with. It's amazing how hardcore Aldotards are delusional and feel this will be a cake walk-walk for hosue. There is absolutely no chance Conor will be steamrolled. While Conor may not be as fast as Aldo in the beginning he has equal or if not superior footwork, superior power in his punches and is about equal in accuracy.

I am hoping this fight lives up to it's hype being the eternal optimist I am. There is no way in hell Aldo can just walk over Conor....The denial of the goat's credibility and worthiness is borderline fear and insecurity on the part of Hosues fans and it's sad. They should instead be happy that Aldo is going into a proverbial trial by fire.

Let's not assume anything. We haven't seem Conor face someone of Aldo's caliber, and we haven't seen Aldo face anyone with Conor's style.

I think that of all the different stand up styles in the division, Aldo has one of the best for dealing with McGregor. He gets in and out fast with punch/kick combos and rarely throws just one punch. I also believe he'll have a bit of a speed advantage.

I think Aldo's best tactic is to fight like Edgar against Penn with constant circling and fast in-and-out attacks. If he stays too stationary and gets hit a lot with kicks and punches to the head, he'll end up with all kinds of cuts and swelling and looking for a way out.

We will see the first hadouken in the UFC and it will be by the hands of the goat.

Conor bless.

I respectively disagree. Conor's Achilles is obviously someone who can close the distance and bring the fight to the floor completely bypassing all that Conor has shown to date. Aldos ground work is obviously capable but is not his specialty so hence he seems to lack the tools to be the Rampage to Chuck weapon your referring to. But yes in and out tactics for hosue will be crucial but he will be at a disadvantage with the goats projection, reach , range and power. If he over uses circling he will get timed and conor will high kick him badly.

Aldo has tasted hard strikes, it doesn't generally make him shy away from striking, unlike what we saw with Dennis Siver.

For example, when Mendes floored him he got right back up and went back at him twice as hard.

Aldo also has a more complete game, a championship 5 round experience advantage, and he can also make people miss if he needs to.

But to say he will taste McGregor's punch then shy away like a little brother in a one sided big brother beat down is ridiculous.

I might add of course the Goats only loss was by rear naked choke which infers that he may be weak in that area of his game. If i had to fight him i sure as hell would take it to the floor rather than test his striking which we know is like mini humble rumble johnson.

The strikes that Aldo is dodging in that pic are first of all fucking a slow as hell and telegraphed for Santa Claus to drop down the chimney. Cardio will not play a role in this fight as I feel both of these athletes will make it known right away who will win and lose. Conors pace dictates he will be pushing and forcing Aldo to throw and shit will hit the fan for poor hosua rather sooner than later I am afraid. I love Aldo but I think his number is up and Conor has that JBJ vibe regarding reach but also packing power. The goat will lose possibly only to a hybrid grappler imo.

Facts are never effectively refuted by fantasy.

Its a fact that the pic shows punches that are turtle SLOW and telegraphed by someone who mentally already lost the fight. If you think Hosue will be staying in the pocket like that against Conor and exchanging straight up your on drugs.

lol conor is not that tall! he is reallly good but people make it like he is 6'2 with an 80 inch reach at fw. There are many fw's taller and longer. Conor is good but its not all about his size, he is only like 5'9 at best maybe even 5'8 with a decent but not overwhelming reach, but i do expect him to give aldo lots of trouble bc of his style not just size

It's not so much the advantage in reach, it's that he hits so much harder than fighters expect. Factor in his accuracy which is A+ I can guarantee that Jose at least in the first round will be back pedalling like a mo fo if he doesnt land his low kicks.

Then Aldo will be KO'ed because he will not be content to sit on the outside and wait for McGregor to tee off. I'm telling you this guy has the heart of a lion, he will go headlong into McGregor's shit.

That leaves only 2 options,

A. McGregor KO's Aldo coming in because Aldo will not just simply stand around.

or

B. Aldo is the more complete fighter and he will impose his will on McGregor even if he has to take him down and choke him.

i do agree bc of his style and his reach will probably come into play bc the tallest guy aldo has fought was kenflo and he is about the same height and reach as conor but not as explosive. Aldo would be a tiny lw
