On the verge of CM Punk's first fight, who else is lol'ing at Ben Askren

Discussion in 'UFC Discussion' started by LORDTENSAIMMA, Aug 10, 2016.

  1. "Who?" You may ask? Exactly. Some guy who didn't sign with the UFC.

No way of knowing exactly what happened in contract negotiations, but you're about to get flamed by people saying that he wanted to sign, but Dana said no.

Ben gets paid alot of money to fight in Japan.

He's doing fine without the UFC.

It's more shameful than funny that a guy with zero training like Punk gets signed, while a dude with legit skills and a ton of fights doesn't.

Not a big fan of Askren to be honest, but dude could wrestle the brakes off of nearly everyone in his division.

One is a former World Wrestling Entertainment champion, one is some guy with an afro that lays his funk all over people.

Pretty obvious who would get signed first.

Lame biting of a thread. And by the way, askren would make punk squeal like a pig.

Askren beat Andrey Koreshkov, a murderer, and made it look easy. Not only did Koreshkov merc Bendo, if AK-47 came to the UFC he seriously might be WW champ. He is that good.

Laughing at him? Fuck that I laugh with him. He's getting paid to beat up cans, the same cans that would squash your wrasslin' boy CM. at this point Ben doesn't need the UFC to make a living.

The one guy I see him having problems with would be Lawler, great TDD and heavy hands, good cardio. If Askren survived the first couple rounds against Woodley he could win that fight. Wonderboy would probably give him fits but without getting knocked out I think Askren could win a decision. He'd easily be top 5-10 in the UFC at 170.

I think it would have been interesting to see him in the UFC. I feel like he was a casualty of the Bjorn and Dana pissing match but the ship has long sailed on him being in the UFC
