Omar Khadr to be keynote speaker at Dalhousie University...

Not surprised but Dalhousie is an SJW mecca and McLean's is a shit paper. They're dying so they'll say anything to get a rise out of people.

Did anything happen to the boys or were people just mean to them on twitter ?

The whole Khadr case was bullshit , age matters , that's why grown men can't bang 15 year olds , you get that right ?
I'm sure (given the comparisons being made) they underwent extraordinary rendition to a leftist covert site and tortured. Right?

Trudeau cleaning up harpers Mess and this happened. Who knows what to believe. What’s done is done. Hopefully he has changed and him speaking can change the trajectory of others in a similar situation to his.

That's an interesting way of saying that he rushed payment to Khadr rather than fighting and continuing to appeal the ruling like Harper did. And he decided it would be paid it out in trust so Speer's family couldn't sue. Trudeau went out of his way to help Khadr and his terrorist family collect.

Universities have become a political joke. Let's put a terrorist up on a pedestal. It should be easier to sue universities. Why? Because of dangerous radical minorities. For example, this will happen very soon, if not already has in the usa. Teachers needing protection.

Sadly, it is a requirement to get many decent paying jobs where it's of no use. I can honestly say that undergraduate education is high school with much more time off and much better food. Few people will learn anything that is going to help them in any job.

The only other reason to go is for the social scene. That's it besides needing it on applications. You aren't going to learn much you couldn't learn on your own at far less cost.

Omar Khadr never even threw the grenade. The actual forensic evidence disputes that allegation. The killing was pinned on him for one reason only, and that is the fact he was the only survivor found in the compound. Then he confessed under torture.

Yet he’s the second coming of Bin Laden, apparently.

Its just Shertards expressing their support for the torture of children - without even looking beyond the base propaganda. If it wasn’t this kid, it would be some other child. It’s usually the same type of poster that likes to label other people as savages.

I’d give him the benefit of the doubt even though this doesn’t sit right with me at first.

Still, it depends on what the agenda is. If he really changes his ways and is now trashing the terrorists then I’m fine with it.

He wasn’t a terrorist to begin with

He was there providing support. He was a teenager and they are more than capable of believing in jihad.

He could have stayed but chose to go to Afghanistan and fight.

I'm assuming you are not being ignorant of what a child soldier is on purpose?

Terrorists are not soldiers. This is well-established. It's why the ruling that Khadr's rights were violated was so utterly absurd. Terrorists are not covered by the Geneva Conventions. They don't meet any of the requirements, much less all of them. They have zero rights under international law. Calling him a child soldier is simply false. He was never a soldier of any kind. No more than a school shooter is. Picking up a gun under 18 or 16 or whatever doesn't make you a soldier. Serving in a recognized military does.
So since he was a child non-uniformed combatant he's a terrorist by your definition? The US was in that fight along with local Afghan militia, so were the special forces terrorist sympathizers?

He was a fighter for al-Qaeda. Who knows how many he killed and what happened before he came to the attention of US soldiers and was captured. He also probably genuinely believed in the ideology he was fighting for, brainwashed by his father.

Definitely not someone that deserves a present of $10M. That's why people are upset, not because he was that great of a terrorist. An ex-terrorist shouldn't be receiving millions in the first place, it's an embarrassment.

Lmao at chose to go. This kid had no choice in his life up until his recent release. He was forced to move to Afghanistan as a child by his father and then bought up to serve the militants. This is why child soldiers are treated differently- they are usually forced into their predicament. That’s also why you don’t torture them.

Sure he could have. He was taken over there at age 13.

People younger than that try to flee their homes from abusive parents. He was 15 during the attack.

Anyway this family decided to go the way of many Islamists and if you think about it he's always lived in Afghanistan.
