Usyk really isn't that good from what I saw.
It's not a coincidence he was born on the same day as Ali? So is the Soviet athlete breeding program that gave us Drago real?
Well, they surely failed with Usyk.
yeah, with all those olympic medals he won and shit.
Well, olympic medals don't define a fighter. He doesn't look that impressive in the ring. Arreola would eat him.
yet he managed to become the most decorated amateur heavyweight in recent years. the guy got skills and athleticism . can you point me to a specific fight where he looked terrible ?
based on what ? arrealo never beat anyone with a pulse .
Arreola gets a lot of crap but this guy is one of the best heavyweights out there today. Usyk on the other hand looks like he could drop to cruiserweight if he wanted to.
Okay, if olympic medals don't define a fighter.... and what he did in the ring is what gave him those olympic medals; how exactly are you with in epistemic (just wanted to use that word) rights to conclude that he wouldn't be any good?
The variables that would determine his worth as a fighter you already undermined by saying they (as a rule) don't define a fighter.... which wouldn't put you in any position to make any substantive comment on his ability.
This is like sawing off the branch you're sitting on.
as could Arreola with proper diet and conditioning.
Arreola is a big guy with a big punch and had the Klitschkos not existed, he would be considered a big heavyweight. Cruiserweight would be more than pushing it and he would probably lose everything that made him good in the first place.
I saw him fight without the headgear and I wasn't impressed with his physique, power and generally everything about him. Arreola would box circles around this guy and would easily put him away.
Sure.... big as in tubby.
You do know that Arreola, as an ammy, fought significantly lighter.
Maybe "brawl circles"... but box?
I liked the guy. I saw a few of his fights and thought he looked pretty good. he has some unorthodoxed moves in there too.
just check out those moves!!
Arreola nowadays has really slimmed down but he is still pushing it as far as weight goes. If he lost 40 lbs to go to cruiserweight he'd lose everything that made him good in the first place.
This guy is breaking new ground.
Tell me the last heavyweight that did this!!
You'd be a great devil's advocate on shows like the Biggest Loser..."Oh man! You just lost everything that made you good in the first place".
Klitschkos better hurry up and retire.
They're good.... but what do they have to combat this?
Usyk has the abilit to float and hover above his opponents.
