yeah thats crazy how some actors look years older than guys who are in the same age range.

Jonah Hill was like 25 in Superbad. It was originally going to be Seth Rogen but he looked way too old for a HS kid so he took the cop role and Jonah Hill, who's only a year younger, took the HS part.

I've been watching The Twilight Zone off and on recently and the age of the protagonists is always given as their early thirties but the actor is obviously in their 40's if not 50's.

The studios do it because it’s easier to work with adults full time rather than shoot around a teenager’s school schedule.

Sets unrealistic expectations, especially for teenage girls who wonder why they don’t look like that yet.

IIRC, Ralph Macchio was pushing 30 while still playing a 17-18 Danial LaRusso in KK 3.

Macchio was older playing a Karate master mentor in Cobra Kai (55ish), then Pat Morita was teaching him in the first Karate Kid movie (51).
