Do you know past/present MMA organizations which are with a limited number of rules? Like in the old UFC? Or Vale tudo? Which organizations I know:

1. old UFC
2. International Vale Tudo Championship (with Wandy )
3. World Vale Tudo Championship (Ruas, Rizzo, Kerr, Igor, Herring, Yvel)
4. Early Pancrase
5. Rioheroes

Vale Tudo Japan maybe? they had gloves? old Shooto? Desafio - Jiu-Jitsu vs. Luta Livre?

War MMA is going to have pride rules... or try.

Pancrase's rules were basically like Pro Wrestling without the pinfalls. No closed fist punching. No elbows. No headbutts. No kicks to a downed opponent. Knees only allowed if you wore knee pads. You can escape submission attempts if you grab the ropes, but you lose a point when doing so (points in a match varied, but it was usually if you grabbed the ropes 5 times you lost.)

Another one is World Combat Championship. Had limited rules but different fighting divisions--strikers and grapplers. Each division had a 4 man tournament with each finalist to face off at the end. In the Striking division, if the fight went to the ground you only had (I think) 2 minutes to work on the ground and you weren't allowed to use submissions. In the Grappling division, you had 10 minutes to work on the ground; all striking allowed. I don't remember the time limits of each match. Renzo Gracie won the 1st and only WCC by defeating boxer James Warring.

Another was Battlecade: Extreme Fighting. Rules were the same as old school UFC, but had weight classes from the beginning. Only held 4 events.

Your first thread wasn't deleted, it was moved. Please continue your conversation in your original thread and do not create the same thread after one has been moved.

This is the UFC discussion, not the Worldwide nor rehashed. I moved your initial offering into wasteland, but I think it might be better suited in the Worldwide, so I'll move it for you.
