OK so obviously, age took Anderson's speed...but where is the technique?

Imagine if he just took the Bentley after the Bonnar fight and retired.

Traded 7 years with his kids for 7 losses..........

The problem with Anderson is that he still believes in his mind that he can fight without defence and has the speed to avoid punches. He is still fighting in the same way as he did before.
You can see that he has still the skills but he didn't change his game to his age.
He would have won easily if his mind made a switch and become more defensive and aware of the lack of speed and movement.
Old Anderson still beats most of the guys if he adjust his style to his age and less speed.
Part of being old isn't just becoming slower and having less reflexes, it's also becoming stupid. You can see every shot fighter around 40 except Randy and Hendo become really stupid. You get less intelligent every year as you get older, and eventually in your 60s or 70s you're diagnosed with an actual clinical problem. But no one at 50 is more intelligent, more wise yes, than they were when they were 25.

Do you have any medical or scientific data to back this up?

This is a very stupid post.

You are actually more daring and careless in your 20s. Its not that the young studs are better fighters because of being more smart.

They got more power, speed, better reflexes, and they are more brave and careless.

The guy is pushing 46 for Ch ----s sake. Anderson should've left after the Bisping fight. That's all I needed to see. His legacy in one piece as one of the upper tier goats.(]- you cant take it away but hes trying so hard to tarnish it. It's a bit frustrating)

Something tells med Anderson kind of threw the fight. He had a beef with Dana and wanted a more worthy opponent for his last fight, he got Hall and felt dissed and didn’t even try.
You need to re-post this in the "MMA Conspiracy" thread.

Bad habit. He did the same against both sonnen and okami as well.
I was gonna say bro that it seemed to me that Anderson's "technique" offensively had been looking sloppy at points for quite some time during the end of his win streak.

But people don't point that out or notice because he was winning. Anderson had flawless victories but he wasn't flawless.

The most frustrating episode was the way Anderson threw himself into these punches by Hall...

First they show us his great highlight from Forrest Griffin fight, then we get a fight where Spider impersonates Forrest Griffin...
he's too old

Hall is a very good kicker from range. So maybe that's why Anderson went forward more so than usual. Anderson was always at his best baiting the opponent to overcommit. He's not a pressure fighter.

I thought it looked like speed tap sparring. Throwing a lot just for the purpose of throwing. Throw at 50% to not gas, it was a 5-rounder. Stay in boxing range, which suits Hall less than kicking range.

Makes sense.. look at the way he lost to Jared..

Anderson does a lot of showy crap with his movement but it's all just dance. there's no integration of attack into it. He's either attacking or dancing, never both. And his head snaps every time it gets hit. He's not defending himself intelligently or attacking intelligently anymore. I hope that's the last time we see him in an MMA fight. I always get excited when Anderson's is fighting, hoping for some glimpse of the his former hungry and focused self, but it's been too long now and guys who aren't anywhere near to his former calibre are taking him out violently. Besides if you're a former GOAT and your co-main is "Thug Nasty" from Arkansas, it's already over.

It's harder for strikers than for wrestlers when getting old.
Strikers are more dependent on speed and explosiveness.

The fight of yesterday was in a very low pace. He should have done way better.

Most old fighters know that they have to dictate the pace and have to come forward. If the pace is forced on them it's game over.

Anderson had a granite chin in his prime. If not for that, he would just be a journeyman.

Now THAT is absolutely stupid remark.
You have probably never seen Anderson fights, or unable to understand how many strikes he dodged with his movement. He relied on his chin only when he WANTED TO
