They’re actually out of Dagestan. Many of them fight in One but a couple that have fought in the UFC are Salikhov and Zabit. They’re both Sanda and Wushu fighters. There’s a whole training centre there that they refer to as the Dagestani Shaolin temple.
One has numerous Wushu fighters out of countries in Asia like the Philippines, Indonesia, Mayasia, India etc.
I had no idea Dagestani fighters were so deep into wushu. Wushu! I can't even wrap my head around it.
This is like when I discovered Carlson Gracie though wing chun would be a perfect complement to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and did several seminars with a wing chun guy. Except it looks like these guys are even more into wushu.
Is there a combat version of wushu that I'm not aware of? I need to look more into their training.
