They started the last set with Whiplash and then Memory Remains. I tuned it out at that point tho

Exactly. Even if he was in shape, does he KO Briggs? Doubtful. Briggs really hard to put out, and you got the count too. He would need to KO him as Page has not used his wrestling in years. Id rather Meathead vs Briggs tbh - he looked very god early and I thought he won that fight. Flores aint no slough either. Hopefully they can attract some better big men tho - I was highly skeptical but the median works for cross overs.

Mir’s post fight interview is very telling:

“His jab alone was more painful than all submissions I had ever felt in my entire career.”

That’s the thing. It’s fun to prance around your living room with a cape and a broom pretending it’s a sword and that you’re Zorro.
Or, hopping around in a cage and rolling around on the ground thinking “so this is what it’s like to be an elite level athlete?”…

That’s all fun and edifying. But a boxer’s jab will turn your world upside down.

It has been said on this forum time and time again, journeyman level boxing and high level MMA boxing are actually close and some MMA guys could be good boxers. Actual world level boxers are a class above (in standup!)

Pulev couldve done that to the whole team MMA and barely broke a sweat. I predicted with the smaller guys and women the boxers could lose, but at higher weights they'd win easily by KO. Flores is a legit tomato can, I watched him box twice and he is absolute garbage.

Briggs will stop Rampage in the first round similar to Pulev-Mir.

    I'm all for Ngannou-Pulev though!

Just saw the Ko of Mir,
I never thought I’d ever feel that kind of sadness for Mir, I always respected him but he seemed arrogant to me, but watching him go out like that made me feel like I was watching a loved one get hurt bad

Let's not pretend like Mir is some elite standup fighter or multiple others have not done that to him before. Even Brandon Vera tko'd Mir in a round, where as wrestler Carwin sent him to another realm. Pulev only lost to Klit and AJ - the writing was on the wall here.

Only two of those boxers even knew how to shift.
Shifting is a lost (or, was a lost) art in boxing. I’ve seen boxers beat mma guys just by shifting.

The greatest trick the boxer ever pulled was convincing the world he couldn’t be an mma guy. And like that... Pulev appears.

Replace the word “Lions” with “Platonic Form of Destruction” and you’d be on to something

The backhalf of the setlist has been nothing but absolute bangers (Battery, Whiplash, Fade to black, Creeping Death, For Whom the Bell tolls, Seek and Destroy)

Exactly this. Tumenov for example is a much better boxer than the guy he fought (hes a master of.boxing in russia and was part of the national team afaik).

Being a pro boxer doesnt actually means that you're a good boxer. Tons of cans have decent record by fighting even bigger cans

Im watching the post conference...no fighters, only those 2 clowns there...other than being hypeman, what was their actual role here? Brigss saying he will "pick better fighters" next time, so this 2 idiots are going to be there on every card? This isnt a reality show where they train the guys in a house or something, give them a fight next and move on, everything but them two was great.
