Signings/Scouting Official Russian MMA Thread (Signings, Fight Announcements, Fights etc)

too lazy to make a new thread just going to post stuff here

Eduard Vartanian vs. Marif Piraev at fight nights ...im kinda sad neither of these guys ever made it to the UFC

UFC did Vartanyan so fucking dirty, man. Such a damn shame we’ll never see him there.

I remember there were concrete rumors but forgot the exact circumstances. def should've been signed. always surprised when ufc doesn't go after elite ethnic Russian fighters.

He was offered a spot on DWCS right after he had won the ACA LW GP. He's in his 30s and he had won $1M. It made no sense to sign him for a spot on DWCS for $5K and have him move up the ranks. He should've been signed straight to the UFC and thrown to the wolves. It's either sink or swim like Kai Asakura. No time to waste moving up the ranks with entry level salary at this point in his career.

that is fucking terrible. yeah no wonder why a % of these eurasian signings are never the elite ones and often guys I've never even heard of. depressing shit.. with the rumors of Yusuf raisov, im so curious what they're offering him now.

Ive been singing Fukhs praises for a while now too. Hes really talented and polished in a way most of these IMMAF guys aren't and his gym has a lot of great talent coming in and out of it to work with while not being a huge gym like Evolve or Eagles still. The kid needs activity though, at his age he should be fighting 3-4 times a year at a minimum.
good shit..yeah a few of his teammates are on this card who I haven't seen fight. Artem Sheshokin and Evgeniy Markov

Raisov was said to have signed for the Baku card, but he wasn't on it. Not sure what the status of that is at this point, but as we know the UFC has a tendency of lowballing fighters which is why they've missed out on Vartanyan, Parnasse, Hughes, etc. Obviously not saying the UFC will fail because they didn't sign them, but passing on some of the best fighters in the world because you didn't want to pay them what they are worth is a choice.

What the above guy said and I remember some rumblings that the UFC basically told him “we already have an Armenian/Russian guy at lightweight. Go through DWCS”

Some bangers on the upcoming ACA cards:

ACA 188 - Gadzhiev vs. Pshukov
ACA 189 - Baydulaev vs. Marcos Rodrigues, Adlan Ibragimov vs. Muslim Magomedov and AAA vs. Ali Bagov 4
ACA 190 - Magomedrasul vs. Aryshev and Faridun Odilov vs. Leandro Silva

not listed on apology but Eduard Kutsko (Belarus) made his mma debut just now at mma series. 23 years old.
  1. Silver at World Sambo Championship
  2. Gold at the European Combat Sambo Championship

ahh wasn't aware about the Baku card rumor...yeah I hear ya I try so hard to ignore the financials of the sport because its so depressing how the ufc does it. Although the last week there def have been some interesting euro signings, but we'll see if they pony up for Keita and Raise

Keita can be another big European star if they sign him. He’s a great fighter with a fanfriendly style. All they have to do is put him on main card PPV fights and promote him and they would have another star.

Him, Parnasse and Hughes are the 3 non-Russian European fighters I think they should’ve gone all out to sign. All 3 are great fighters who could become stars.

absolutely agree. I wonder if their strategy of not going after fighters like this will change even after dana leaves..its so dumb. inshallah it will.

does anyone remember if the dudes in the past who went to mma also competed in normal world sambo championships and not just combat sambo?

re Raisov: just saw this on vk

️Raisov and Belaz's path to the UFC: ACA Vice President Aslanbek Badaev compared the methods of Vlad Belaz and Yusuf Raisov, which the fighters use to get into the UFC "Of course, Kovalev is increasing his chances of being signed. He is working on it. But Raisov should not do this. He deserved to be signed by the UFC with his fights and status. Even with his fame. At some point, I was sure that Yusuf would be signed for this tournament (in Baku). But they did not sign. Yusuf will not behave like that, and Vlad is getting closer to signing. He will go to the "Dana White Contender Series", but whether Raisov will go is a question. Eduard Vartanyan and Albert Tumenov did not go. They are status fighters. This is how they differ from Vlad," Badaev said for MMA.Metaratings

His striking coach is really good, just doesnt have the best chin. Sharapudin Magomedov and Gadzhimurad Zavaev train out of his gym sometimes, hes got Yan, Vyacheslav Svischev and he cross trains at Tiger Muay Thai. Its a good stable. Kids really polished and well rounded, we won't know until we see him vs adversity but he also beat a lot of really solid amateurs when he was in the IMMAFs. These prospects though, activity and staying healthy is like 50% of the game. MMA is some sea turtle shit.

yeah they def need to stay active. he has been pretty active outside of 2023. Eastern Europe amateur talent is do deep imo you can get a good idea of how good these dudes are. dudes with 10+ fights etc, half of them against other amateurs with 10+ wins. Maxim for example. his amateur win over gimbat madomedov (haven't seen it) might be his most notable.. Im following immaf/amateur/russian federation pretty closely and the talent in that region is insane. these dudes are way ahead of American counterparts. Ive only found like 15 American amateur prospects I've been impressed with vs +40 in Europe. Im going to try to make a thread of the 25 most talented amateurs or pros with less than 2 fights. there are a bunch in western Europe also ..Spain, Sweden, France etc

I wouldn't consider Russia "Europe" for MMA talent. Russia is more Caucasus, Central Asia and Greater Russia. There's insane talent coming out of Russia and Central Asia though, it just doesnt get signed. They're leading the sport.
