Multiplat Official Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Disc

This game is surely going to be awesome, just hope it's awesome day one. First game took a while to be relatively bug free, so hopefully they learned from experience.

I'm crossing my fingers when review embargos lift. I want to know as little as possible, just its state of playability/performance.
I'm guessing they had a bit more money and personnel to play with this time around, so here's hoping. I think the first game's initial issues can be mostly attributed to a relatively small company going for broke on a big AAA experience. Needs a bit more play testing than an indie 2D sidescroller.

The fact that Warhorse Studios gave out review codes for KCD2 almost 30 days ago gives me a lot of optimism.
Letting critics have that much time with the game before being able to post full reviews shows serious confidence in their product.
All first impressions I took in seemed to suggest the game is polished and not buggy.
The main question regarding performance for me is how well the game will run when Henry gets to Kuttenberg. It's way bigger and way more populated with npcs than Rattay in the first game. Seems like if there are going to be problems with optimization or bugs that's where they will show up. Anyone who got early access was not allowed to speak about game specifics beyond an early quest so no real info on that yet.
As I said before I'm optimistic.

Not going to lie, I pre-ordered for the extra quest and cosmetics so I do hope it slaps right out of the gate.

There's a lot to be optimistic for no doubt. Like @HereticBD said, they have a larger budget, a bigger team, and coupled with lots of experience with the engine, this should be the sequel we want from any franchise; at least as good if not better, but improved in numerous ways.

After the Cyberpunk burn, I always have my guard up though lol.

I'm so excited for this, really hoping for another bender with Father Godwin, the goat pastor of any game :D

Metacritic scores rolling in this morning.

Nice just beat the KCD1 last weekend. Had to rush through the main story the game looks like crap on PS5.

The sequel is supposedly gorgeous on PS5 Pro. For that reason alone I’ll pick it up but probably not until the edition with all the DLC is discounted. I have monster hunter wilds and first berserker coming out in the next couple months and no way can I beat a game like this before those release. Then there’s expedition 33 and doom the following months lol. So I’ve already got my first half of the year planned out. Going to be a great year and simply can’t fit them all in

I'm 100% waiting until the full package comes out. I heard it looks great on the pro so yea I'm going to go hard and do it all in #2. Might even try getting the plat if it's not to crazy. Until then like you said there are tons of games to play right now it's overwhelming honestly. That Ninja Gaiden 2 game looks amazing.

Nah it's not really. I played the game on PC until the part where you have to run to Talmberg and it looked fantastic. From what I read it was just a horribly done port of the game. The devs said it's possible they upgrade it for PS5 but that wont be until after KCD2 at best and no guarantee even then.

Either way my main focus was just getting the story and getting to know the main characters which it served it's purpose and I only paid $10 for it.

Yeah I saw it for 10$ … I think it may worth it then before I think about the second one. 89$ CAD is a lot …

If you haven't played the first one it is worth it. It's not that long either if you just want to get an idea of the main story which is very good. #1 ends in a way where you kind of have to play it to understand #2. There is a recap video but IMO you don't really get to know the characters and world as well in recaps vs playing.

Is it as realistic at the second one you think ? Well. i never knew why it was so low noted back then...https://www.metacritic.com/game/kingdom-come-deliverance/

I've bene trying to avoid as much as I can on the second one so I'm not sure. I can tell you it is very realistic and you are able to approach quest in very creative ways. I have seen a lot of people say it's the same as the first one but with everything just more refined and better.

I had one quest where I needed to get rid of someone from town the lord asked me for help. I ignored this side-quest because I didn't want to do it. Later in the game I needed another persons help but he said he can't because the side quest I ignored was also interfering with him and he couldn't leave town. So I waited until night, broke into the guys room and just killed the dude. The next day I spoke to the lord and told hm the guy died and my speech was high enough so that I convinced him it must have been someone else. Went to the other dude and he was like yea I can help you now.

Reviews look great across the board, including Steam users. I've tried to avoid as many story details as possible, mainly worried about performance over anything, but all looks good.

I'm having a blast with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but had to pick up the KCD2 gold edition on CD Keys, selling for $86 CAD ($127 normally). It will be fun going back and forth between games

I always say the best part about CD keys, for Canadians at least, is that we don't have to pay taxes on it. These stocks don't tend to last long, if you want to buy in early. There are always great sales there though.

Game runs great for me in 1440p (laptop nvidia 4080, Intel i9 13980hx, 32 GB ddr5 ram) on ultra settings with DLSS set to performance. Constant 90 fps.
However the perk menu is always offset when I bring it up. I need to use the mouse to line everything up by clicking on the right side of the screen that is partially obscured to put it into frame.
Tried to see if anyone is having the same issues via Google search and no luck.

EDIT: used the word menu too much.

This game is fantastic. A spiritual successor to morrowind, Skyrim etc al.

Graphics are amazing, it has 2.2 million words in the script! You can't sneak if you smell to bad, you have to craft a potion to save (a process in itself).

It's basically a medieval squire simulator. I'm so hooked.

You have to shower before you go on stealth missions?

Some things don't need to be included in games.

It's pretty crazy. If people see you sneaking around a place and someone ends up dead they will tell the guards they saw you sneaking around and blame you. I can agree that some things are to much but the fast travel system makes most of this easy. You just go to a bath house get washed up then go do stealth.

I didn't even do much stealth in the first game honestly.

The first had a lot of performance issues at launch and months into release.

Some busted and mid games still get great scores, but there was a big hate on from a lot gaming "journalists" at the time because it was unapologetically accurate to the era, meaning no racial diversity. They gave the game no quarter, which is how it should be really.

Outside some journos whining about the diversity thing, it deserved much criticism. If it was reviewed in its better state, you'd see similar scores to the sequel.

I only had time to play for an hour so last night, but it ran so well. I have a 3080 and played 1440p ultrawide with everything maxed by default I believe. Dlss is activated as well but I didn't look at what level. I'll check my framrate next time I boot it up too, but it was very smooth.
