No Spoilers Official Black Myth: Wukong Discussion

My understanding is that that part of the game was actual Wukung and not the reincarnated one you play the whole game as, right?

If that's the case, I didn't pick up on it. I admittedly didn't pay that close attention to some of the intro story.

Still chugging. Hundred eyed Daoist and Duskveil down

Once you beat Duskveil and Yellow Loong, you should have enough crafting mats to make Golden Loong Staff that should be a HUGE upgrade from your current weapons and carry you to the end game.

is there a map in this game? I have no idea where I'm going

I'm fucking pissed there's no map. What the fuck were they thinking?

I would lump this into the Soulsborne genre and these types of games typically don't have any sort of map. You end up unlocking tons of fast travel locations and can easily backtrack.

It’s definitely the roughest in Chapter 2 imo. It can get confusing when you have to zip around places but you'll eventually get used to it. My guess is, they went this style to force blind exploration.

exploration is good if you know where you can and can't go

Ch. 6 is unnecessarily large to the point of being annoying. It was so empty with a few points of interest. They should have either filled the space better or just shrunk it way down.
Couldn't agree any more! That's EXACTLY what I thought as well. Too much just for the sake of being aesthetically pleasing.

Yeah, it really felt like they just ran out of steam and just slapped and ending on it. They had to introduce a new form of transportation just to navigate the huge empty space. The previous 5 chapters I thought were really paced (ch 3 was a bit long), making chapter 6 feel really out of place.

I can't decide if they created the transport system to navigate the map they created or if they wanted to introduce the power and needed a large map to justify the ability.

I felt like they ran out of steam on chapter 5 & 6. Both were really dull and pretty boring. I think what kind of bugged me was that each level was somewhat cliche in its setting. Jungle, desert, snow, etc. I probably would have been ok if there was some lead in or transition but they just plop you into those areas

I also agree on that last part as well. They wanted people to explore the map but it was completely empty. Harry Potter was a much better experience when it came to flying around like that.

Beat it. Took me about 50+ hours. And another 15 hours of grinding/leveling to beat the secret boss and get the good ending. I really didn’t need to grind another 15 hours but I was in that zone.

The bosses I truly struggled with were the snake mid boss in the first level, the blood tiger in 2nd boss and yellow loong and the final boss of the game. I must have fought the final boss almost 30-40 attempts. Went back and beat the secret final boss on my 2nd earnest attempt (after 5 under leveled attempts) but I kind of cheesed it badly. I tried this unlimited focus trick and it made the fight stupidly easy. Used it on the final boss (already beat him so I wanted to see how easier it was) and destroyed him on my first attempt.

Loved the game. Will definitely run NG+. Not sure how many times I’ll do it we shall see. Kinda ready to play another game.
