MMA is a very unique sport. What makes MMA such a thrilling sport is the raw pureness of two highly trained fighters from anywhere in the world competing against each other with the one common goal of attaining victory. Only one fighter can be victorious, that alone makes for amazing fights and amazing moments.
Every fighter has a story that they are telling every time that they compete.
Each story has a beginning, and each story has an end.
For Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva, at 44 years of age, after over 20 years of competing in MMA, it appears that the end is drawing near on the story of his legendary fighting career.
The story of Anderson Silva has been one of the most exciting and eventful ones in the history of the sport. A story filled with many great fights, and many great moments.
Anderson’s reign from 2006-2013 was historic:
- 17 fight win streak
- 16 fight UFC win streak (which remains a record today)
- 11 victories in UFC Championship fights
- 10 UFC Middleweight Championship defenses (which remains a record today)
- 9 finishes in UFC Championship fights (which remains a record today)
Alas, all great things come to an end.
However, Anderson’s story did not finish after the championship chapter of his career ended.
In the twilight of his career, Anderson has continued to compete just for the love of the game.
Although he is not as explosive as he was 7-8 years ago, every now and then we will see flashes of his old self.
Anderson has said prior to his fight with Adesanya that he has three fights left, which means...he is not done yet.
Which means...
Guys, he back, trust me, he back.
Guys, listen. It eez time for ‘The Spider’ to go for back again, to go for the fight.
Anderson fans, or mma fans in general, get in on ‘The Spider’ War Wagon, he go for fight for long time. The fight eez the fight. Eez normal, thass eet.
