Odd Request

I had a very strange request from a guy I know. He asked me if he can visit my gym to have me knock him out. To clarify, I asked, "You mean to spar?"
He answered, "Not really. I want to get knocked out."
"You want me to just hit you and knock you out?"
"Yes I never been knocked out and I want to see what it feels like and in a controlled environment."

I asked him why, and the reasoning is that he has been in many street fights where he's been hurt, but never knocked out. He wants to know what it feels like should it happen in a "real" situation.
As I think my trainer would look at me like I'm retarded if I pitched this idea to him, I declined. I also think this is a pretty stupid idea as I don't think having been knocked out before helps you any better if you get knocked out again. Then again, this guy isn't the smartest person I know. He's one of those "I train for teh streetz" guys.

I wanted to share as this was amusing (and somewhat related to striking). What do you people think? Do you think I should oblige? Does getting knocked out once in a gym help you should you get knocked out in a real fight?

I wouldn't do it... you could accidently kill him and then that would really fuck your day (and the rest of your life) up...

but let's pretend you agree to do it. how would you go about doing it? I am thinking uppercut right at the exposed chin (he's gotta be wearing a mouthpiece of course).

Hook sai

haha well what if you tried to knock him out but couldn't, that'd be embarrassing.

True, he does have a huge melon. He might have a Homer Simpson-esque chin.

Haha I should've humored him and talked about how we should do it. Since he wanted to do it at the gym, I would be wearing gloves I assume but he might not wear headgear to stimulate a "real" fight as much as possible. I don't think he has a mouth piece and you don't wear one in a street fight anyway.

I was thinking either an over hand right or an uppercut, although I think I could possibly hurt his jaw doing that. Since he wanted to get knocked out, I would follow up with punches if he doesn't go out from one. He claims he's been training various martial arts since he was a child and has been in many street fights so I assume he will be able to take at least a few punches.

Was he Charlie Z?

Dude he is asking you to give him a concussion. Think about how stupid that is. Bruising the brain does not make it stronger.

Maybe choke him out instead?

This is in Korea?

At least he asked you respectfully in a controlled environment. Its a hell of a lot better than a bunch of drunk mates taking pot shots at each other. Still, it is your call and you are the best one to know how you feel about that request.

Id probably start with a crowbar and if that doesnt work then a baseball bat

I wouldn't do it. Too risky.

The aftermath can get ugly in many ways. Dont do it..

Get a lawyer let him sign something and unleash your inner Julian Jackson

Or your inner Joe Jackson depending on how cruel you are.

Imagine if you just kept hitting him trying to knock him out, it didn't work, and then he just sorta fell asleep that night and never woke up.

Haha I said the same thing to him.

Don't worry guys, I'm not going to do it. It was so ridiculous I just had to share it here
