Not all grappling competitors prefer to compete in NAGA....

As far as what a throwdown is, its basically a get together of various types of fighters (trained in whatever the hell it is you do- there arent any restrictions) and allows for people to exchange techniques.

Usefull for example, if you've got limited access to instruction for certain aspects of fighting. You may be a BJJ'er who has no one to teach you takedowns, and could learn from someone there who say happens to be a wrestler. The same could be said for strikers, or even someone from the same style you train in, except that hes perhaps more experienced or has a seperate bag of tricks you might like to try out.

You choose your level of involvement. Some people like to just try out a few moves, most like to spar. The level of contact is determined by the 2 parties before they fight, with some people preferring light contact and other preferring full contact.

Its also a good meeting ground to those who prefer to mouth off online. It gives opportunities for people to back up their claims (or refute someone elses)

lol....Ray Pina makes it sound so hardcore by calling it a Throwdown as if it's this big challenge among the schools or something. Thanks for clarifying Van

Agreed. Sounds like a great idea. Good luck.
