If it wasn't a political statement hire than the WH would refuse to talk about it and treat it as a staffing issue and not newsworthy. It's about getting the right all wee-wee'd up about it and hoping one of the further right types will have a helluva bigoted quote about it that the Dems can then blast about to show how much more tolerant and progressive and thus better they are.

If so, it's only because the Christians in this country are morons as a political demographic.
The political connotation of believing in Christ is often much different in other countries, who still observe, at least to an extent, the emphases on service and inclusiveness of the disadvantaged. The fact that Christians here have been pandered and duped into think that laissez fair is godly is mind-numbing.

I hope that transsexuals can get a job. But intead of parading transsexuals around like heros full of courage, I hope that they get help for their mental and emotional issues and go back to being the sex that God created them. So that someday they can fulfill the purpose God created for them in this life.
